  1. I haven’t, but given that it is quiet when cold (oil pressure is ok) and noisy when warm (no oil pressure) I’m gonna say unfortunately it’s probably not that, but I’ll have to check. I’m going to at least drop the pan and see if the pump is full of gunk
  2. Noisy as in really bad lifter clatter, I.e 0psi oil pressure at idle. Thicker oil does not help.
  3. I don’t want to have to worry about any wiring stuff, and I have no problems with the renix so why fix an issue you don’t have, yk? I’ve complemented this but I just don’t feel like putting in all the work
  4. I haven’t, but it gets pretty noisy at operating temp, so I think the gauge is accurate.
  5. It currently has a bad BA10/5, and I don’t want to rebuild that, so I’m looking for a complete donor. The engine has low oil pressure and I don’t want to rebuild/refresh it but if worst comes to worst I can.
  6. Hello all, so I was unable to get that Eliminator that I wanted for a donor, so with a quick search I found a nice 94’ XJ to swap the powertrain out of, only problem is the engine. Are they compatible? I know I’ll have to swap the distributor, intake and exhaust manifolds and sensors, but will I have to swap heads or do any major conversions? If not it would make my life much easier, but if so then I guess I’ll look some more. or if anyone has a cheap Renix 4x4 XJ with a Ax-15 they’d part with, I’d maybe be a taker…
  7. So, I’m interested in this problem I’ve been having. Whenever the gauge cluster lights are on, both turn signal lights turn on too. The blinkers didn't function when I bought the truck and so I put in a new flasher, would that cause it? Turn signals/hazards work fine, it’s just a bit annoying if anything.
  8. After a 4 hour long, windy and boring trip, she’s back! Not a whole lot has changed since I last saw it, just a few more bits came back with it. Since I’ve gone to all the trouble to get it back, hopefully progress will occur quickly. Ax-15 swap, here we come!
  9. Hoo boy, it’s been a while. A lot has happened in the time I’ve been gone, personally. But, the Comanche finally has a return date. I’m going to get it this Thursday. So excited to have my baby back!
  10. Hello all, I was wondering what it would take to install a factory aux electrical fan on my non-A/C equipped Comanche. Are all the wires there for the install? I know I’ll need a temp. switch for the fan to kick on, and the fan itself, but I was curious if I need to find that piece of harness to make it all work. Thanks! -DCC
  11. Interesting. I wonder if that dealer even exists anymore.
  12. Thinking about making the doors removable, is that a hard thing to do? I know I’ll have to get mirrors that will have to fit somewhere in order to not get pulled over.
  13. Not saying they aren’t, just not what I’m looking for in a set and they come with the truck.
  14. Nope. Completely wrong. Wheel code is JP08, no idea what they’re off of.
  15. Update: The Pandemic pickup will be back in my possession soon, plus a set of what looks to be YJ Wrangler Renegade rims. Does anyone want them? I have no use for them as I’m going to keep the stock steels on there. I would love to trade for a set of turbines, but that’s probably never going to happen.
  16. Update: He has not said no yet, so that’s a plus. Also, totally unrelated, would anybody potentially be interested in a 1974 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham? Asking for a friend.
  17. Ok. So this build thread might not have had ended yet. I might be able to snag it back if I can get enough dough around to get it. I’ll make sure I’ll keep you all updated.
  18. I did, although I’m not sure if he’ll post on here or not. If I get any pictures I’ll make sure to send them along.
  19. Well, unfortunately this is most likely where this thread ends. Earlier today I passed along my ol manche along the line. She was a good old truck, but finances come first, and with a bad trans she was on the chopping block. Don’t fret though, hope is that I can get one sooner than later, and I’ll recommence my Comanche adventures. She’s in good hands. She’ll get some larger tires and a lift. If I get any updates I’ll post them here.
  20. Yeah. I suppose you’re right. Though about splurging on a really good undercoat.
  21. But where’s the fun in that? ATM really hating KS for using salt.
  22. Oh yeah. She’ll probably be washed weekly or biweekly (twice a week, not every two weeks)
  23. Wow, it’s been a while, figured I’d update on it at the moment. Well, the BA10/5 did what it does best: fail, the countershaft bearings have finally given up. Trans skips horribly. AX-15 swap is in the planning phase right now. I tracked my low oil pressure to a clogged oil pump pickup, so that’ll get replaced at the same time (as well as the pump) I also want to do the lift-off doors modification, but that’s a back-burner thing. So, not a whole lot of driving in the last two months, made sure I go out and start it weekly so it’s a bit happy. Overall, the Comanche has become a back burner project for the last two months due to another unexpected arrival.... I hope to have the trans swapped within the next month. I love driving it to school, it’ll especially probably be fun when it starts to get snowy outside. (With extra attention to wash it, of course)
  24. These are pretty faded, but they’re strong still. They look more of a light red than standard. I guess almost 20 years of direct sun will take its toll.
