  1. Questions for Comanche owners..My 1986 Comanche X has been setting a while. Had trouble starting it. Had to keep priming the carburetor but it kept shutting down. Finally dumped alot more gas into it then it ran for a while Cut off again and won't start back up....Your thoughts please ??????? Thanx in advance.......Robert

  6. Nice credentials!! Thanks for the reply. Yea, most just don't want to do it. I like keeping it stock. I just need to find a semi local jeep guy. who not only can but likes to get greasy.. and not just for the money. I have no problems with paying. I'm just " Old School" I guess. And apparently a bit of a Dreamer.
  7. Can't find anyone local to rebuild and upgrade original 2.8 engine to stop the leaks and give it more power. Same Response from most is that it can't be done. I have a rebuilt Chevy 350 four bolt in my garage. Not totally engine savvy myself, I could use some qualified opinions and advice.. Is this an option?? Thanks

  15. I have an 86' Comanche with 119,000 miles on it. It has the original 2.8 in it. It is an automatic with the floor shifter. Almost every time I stop and then give it gas it cuts off. It seems to slam in to gear a little. I have to put it in neutral, give it some gas, then pull it in gear to keep it running. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
