Parking Emergency Brake Rachet Repair When removed the Parking Brake Assy and discovered the teeth worn so I removed every other one as shown in photo. Made the teeth twice the size/depth. Theirs one original tooth on the left for comparison. Works great.

My project 87 MJ is coming along nicely. Bed coated the headliner, looks great. Removed the seat covers to find perfect seats. But I need some help with that pesky emergency brake pedal. Is there a "best know solution" to fix/replace the assembly? I want to retain the foot pedal. Also, is it possible to swap in the AC unit from a 87 Cherokee 6cyl into the 87 MJ 4 cyl? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I plan to regear for larger tires and the 4 cyl. Its a very clean original 2wd with 112k miles, almost hate to modify it. Steering is a little loose, but I can fix that. Manual steering and no AC are a bummer, plus the lack of 6cyl. Thinking a using JK rubicon rims/tires with a 1" adapter/spacer.

Well, its Calif. so an engine swap complicates things. So lets say, keep the 4 cyl and find a vehicle with 5sp AX5. I guess any of those 95 and up, but did they make them. Also, can you swap in AC into a non AC car?

I read that 98/99 XJ are the best for making a crawler because they have the high pinion D30 and larger U-joints. But do those parts swap into a 87/88 Commanche. Sorry, Its a old subject, but probably a frrequently asked.
