Nice! I'm sure that was very cool also though. My troop had went to Philmont the year I got my Eagle, I missed the birthday cutoff by one month and couldn't go.
-
Good luck to the both of them! As long as they stick with it, they'll make it to the top.

I didn't partake in the ceremonies team, I had planned to attend the National Jamboree after I had earned my Eagle but just never got around to it. That would've definitely been worth it, awesome experience.

I got mad at one of my derby races, I somehow got pushed back a spot and shoulda won first but ended up like 4th or 5th because the person keeping track couldn't count
-
I will also admit, how the troop is managed will either make or break your goal.
-
Hope ya make it man! It is a lot of work that goes into the planning process, there are lots of hoops to jump through, but it'll all be worth it. Keep pushing on!

I made Eagle rank in November of 2018 when I was 16. My troop was 1038 out of Troy, Illinois. I was sent into the Order of the Arrow in June of 2016, completing my Brotherhood in Fall of 2017.

I found it on Facebook Marketplace up by the Chicago area, listed at 175 but talked down to 120. Unfortunately, I am from down by St Louis. I made the drive last Tuesday and picked it up in one single day (10 hours later...). I walked out in the morning and realized what a mistake it probably was considering there isn't much left of it. Now I've got to pay 25 a month to store this thing I plan on making the best of it though, just making it somewhat. But the floors are by far the worst I've seen in an MJ...There is literally nothing left all the way to the back wall of the cab. It's a shame its been neglected, but as far as I know it has changed many hands over the years, several being in the CC group.

My plan was after I got my Eagle I was going to focus more time on the Order of the Arrow, but life got busy and thoughts about doing so changed. I do wish I would've gotten some palms, but making Eagle was my main goal. Congrats to you and Pete both on working even harder to earn some palms.

It's not save-able as a daily, but I'm going to get it to run and drive as best as possible. It still has the entire 4x4 drivetrain and I plan to make it a rusty show pony, or even just to run into town for something. I only paid 120 bucks for it, with clean title in hand. I agree, many things have changed just since 2018. Glad I got mine when I did.

Gotcha, mine is fairly loaded down. I've got the 04 WJ Special Edition with all options, but it is still regarded as the Laredo. Either way, thanks for mentioning the Chief is fairly rare. Gave me a reason to keep her out of the scrap yard, she's not in decent shape anymore which sucks. She's been both picked over and neglected. Got my Eagle in November of 2018. Anyways, I'll include some pictures after this post. Good to know I like both my 87's regardless of model, I can brag about them being the last few Jeep pickups made by AMC.

Interesting. I have an 87 LWD Pioneer with a mix of different options. The Laredo is the lowest trim package offered in the WJ Grand Cherokee is what I was referring to. Dig your nickname by the way
-
I had always thought that the Pioneer was the highest edition you could get... I do know that the early 2000's Jeeps used Laredo as the lowest trim package

That's what I thought I was doing, but my Apple computer isn't real good at saving JPEG as it's a weird file style for it... I'll try doing it saved from my old beater computer -
You would be correct. How rare is an 87 Chief?

Too bad none of the original parts are left besides the 4.0, transmission, transfer case, and axles. There is absolutely no interior whatsoever and no dash

Just picked this up, 87 4.0 Auto short bed 4x4

Been a member of the CC for a while and was directed to post a build thread. I picked this 87 up about a year ago in Central Illinois with 171k, all it needed was the front grille flipped, new tires, a stereo system, wheel center caps, and a new rear bumper. Been driving it every few days ever since. Pretty solid besides the spray foam cab corner on the drivers side. The plan is to repaint the factory blue color this summer.

I do believe this truck had air conditioning

No mine currently does not have headrests
