OK guys I'm in a real pickle. my 89 4.0 is over heating. i have a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, coolant flush. oh and a new cap. the people i just bought it off of put a new head on but, I'm not real sure they did the best job of it. there is no coolant in the oil, or vise versa. I'm about to just sell the thing. so if there is anyone in the Nashville area interested in a rust free 4x4 let me know. oh i also just put 2 new electric fans on today. if anyone has any ideas so i don't have to sell it i could use a hand. thank you
  2. i just had mine replaced Monday, you can't beat a new windshield, they came and replaced it while i was at work for $180. that is way worth it!
  3. what do you recommend is the best way to enguage the 4wd on my 89 Comanche. i had a 96 xj that was a "shift on the fly system", is my mj the same

  5. do you recommend permanently locking it if it is a daily driver. i mean besides the fuel mileage will it wear other parts out quickly.
  6. Does anyone know where to get a cad motor I called the local jeep dealership and he quoted me $360.00 i would manually lock it before i pay that much.
  7. i cleaned my throttle body and iac seemed to help a little, ill test my tps later on this week thanx guys
  8. Does anyone know why my 89 Mj 4.0 is revving up pretty high when i start it.(I don't have a tach so i can't tell you an exact rpm but its enough to make me cringe. it doesn't do it all the time. thanx guys.

  10. now i did t cps unplug trick the other day, nothing. plus wouldn't that be a spark issue, I'm almost positive it is a fuel problem. but i will say i think i have a bad rear main seal, so dirty flywheel. and would i wave white smoke in the morning if my injectors were leaking down. i dunno I'm trying to diagnose the problem before a lot of money is involved, but after all it is a jeep and i know what to expect.

Hey all, nice to talk to some jeep enthusiasts. so I'm a new member, but not to your forum. and i got a ton of good info from all your input. anyways i have just bought my first Mj (89 4.0 Sport truck (whatever that means)auto, 4wd) and big surprise it has some problems, like the cad, which was a great design. and a starting problem. so my first question is would the shimmed collar in the the cad be good idea in a daily driver. the second is a little more tricky, it has a hard time starting after its been sitting for a couple of hours, now a shot of starting fluid will get it to start perfectly. wile running i know i have 31 psi at the rail, when i unplugged the fuel pressure regulator it jumped to 40 psi. so I'm sure its not a spark issue. i guess what I'm trying to find is if maybe you think I'm loosing pressure while its off(unless its supposed to) i dunno maybe someone has had the same problem as me a could steer me in a good direction. thanks
