Some guy at a Safeway parking lot driving a grand Cherokee offered me $6000cad for my 2.5L auto 2x4 pioneer. I always search for Comanche's on CL for fun and I saw a 91 4.0 5 speed 4x4 selling for $1200 just yesterday. I sent him a text he never got back to me so I figured he sold it. I checked back on the ad on CL. He updated his price to $5900 and explained that he got so many responses that he was overwhelmed. I live in Canada and wonder just how many trucks made it up compared to the states. I was also wondering what prices people are asking for them all around North America. Well the engine was stalling so I tested all the things that would likely cause an engine to completey shutdown not just cause it to missfire. I could not back prob the tps because of my limited tools so i just disconnected it and fire up the engine and it ran better ever since. The funny thing is the sensor is relatively new because the wires are all new and no oil or dirst on them so i'm worried the problem might be farther back and a new sensor will just get eaten up again.

All right guys I'll look into getting a new tps because I don't want to burn up a cat or do any damage to the engine. Also off idle performence sucks when gas is matted which could be a problem in an emergency.

Ok so I have a 89 2.5 tbi and was wondering if you guys can help me out here. The problem is the TPS is malfuctioning and I have it disconnected and the car is still running go figure. The truck just got a years insurance put on it and I was wondering if I could just simply reprogam the computer so it is optimised with out the senser attached. I'm a little confused here about all the types of memory and there involvement with the diffrent types of driving conditions. I do know what open loop and closed loop is and I know we are talking about closed loop here. One of the problem is high idle but I'm pretty sure that it is because of the old programing. So anybody want to give me a helping hand here, thanks.

I started tearing into the pig today, I'm a little scared I got my self into a little more then I thought it was going to be. I'v done a 4x4,4.0 swap into a 87 sport Comanche from a 88 Cherokee before but all the wiring is the same. I'm first year Auto Tech Apprentice but that is not much help here lol. Anyways here are some pics, I just getting to know the the pig. before after

Well with all the wiring it looks like it might be easyer to just throw the other dash in, but what do I know. I'm going to have to do some research to get this 99 4.0 to run in my 89.

Hi, in a couple hours I'm going to start pulling parts off my donor. Is there any links anyone would recommends I look at to give me a heads up for any challenges I'm going to be facing when it comes time to upgrade the Comanche? :dunce:

More pics. I had some rust problems around the rear wheel wells. I sanded the junks of rust away and sprayed some rustkiller on it. Here is the engine, there is a small valve cover leak I need to fix. I hate the smell of burned oil inside when heat is on. Here is the donor. It is a 99 and has more kms and worse interior then the 89 :shake:

This is a crazy build man, keep up the good work.

I would like to introduce "Scrappy" The truck has 250,xxx kms and still runs very well. Passed Aircare with flying colours. I'm picking up cargo for a delivery I did today, it was 260km round trip in mountainous terrain and I only used $40 bucks gas. Here is the interior I will post images of the donor soon, I plan on tearing into the donor this coming weekend. :wrench:

Hello everyonem, I got me a 89 comanche SB for $1100 CAD a month ago. The truck is a 2.5L, aw4, 2wd, blue interior. I bought a 99 cherokee sport for $500 CAD that has a blown trans. Plans: Engine swap Front end conversion 4WD conversion Maybe interior swap Lift 5-8'' tires 33-35'' Paint, blue,silver,or black Later date: stroker 4.7 5-6 speed Pics coming soon
