  1. Bluenotnick. Thanks for the advise. I don't think it's the injectors because it would rev past the bad idle if I pushed it hard enough. I can try running some premium fuel through it to see if that helps I forgot to mention this detail... if I unplug the vacuum line at the MC the idle jumps up and it'll rev just fine. No bogging or backfiring
  2. On going issue of the truck bogging down under load.... so far I've replaced the tps, cap, wires, plugs, fuel filter, checked fuel pressure, new vacuum system and o2 sensor. The truck idles fine but bogs down when I give it throttle. Before replacing the o2 sensor it would rev high if I gave it enough throttle. Now that I've replaced the o2 sensor it'll bog down and backfire and almost die.... HELP ME figure this issue out.
  3. Well.... the stud gun didn't do what I was looking for on the roof... I chopped this one off the same truck I got the 86 badges from. also found a clean white tailgate :)
  4. Got to work on the truck yesterday. I stopped by the junk yard after work Friday and got the supplies to convert the closed cooling system to an open system. Heater hoses from a newer xj & and coolant filler neck from a Dakota. i also borrowed and stud gun and slide hammer from my buddy's dad. I pull what I can but I think the best path forward will be to re-skin the roof and lastly... the trash truck is filling up with trash, all from this truck
  5. Watched some of your YouTube videos. Your mj it turning out good
  6. I've been working getting the engine bay back to factory. I've replaced about every vacuum line, undid all the custom wiring, refreshed grounds, cleaned the AIC valve, tps, changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires & cap. I've been chasing an issue where the truck bogs down under a load. It idles fine, bogs under a load then smooths out in WOT. I did a fuel pressure test and tested the fuel pressure actuator. My last guess was the O2 sensor and a computer reset. Any other ideas? 1-4 were black 5&6 were brown I'll post a video when I can get it loaded Here's a pic of the truck on Cayons and 35s. After I get the truck tuned up it'll be time to start on suspension & steering
  7. #1 was open on the top. I plugged it off Thanks guys!
  8. Passengers side 5. Plug with TCM grounds 6. 7. Purple plug coming out of the back of the heater box grommet 8. Red wire coming out of the harness by the battery
  9. I'm working on undoing all the PO's work. I have a few thinking in need to wrap up. Any help would be appreciated Starting on the drivers side... 1.throttle body. Is the top hole is open. Should it be plugged in to anything or filled 2.back of the block near injectors 5 & 6 3. Back of the block near injector 6 4. Plug by the air box. Pretty sure this is for the e-fan... because its missing
  10. I drilled both holes and used nutserts. No issues so far
  11. New TCM fixed the issue. Thanks everyone
  12. Going to the wrecking yard in a couple hours to get a new one. Also going to use this guide to make sure I'm getting power to the TCM https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/10ffb0ce-2e30-42ea-ac0c-6e10b1e43b60
  13. After cleaning and testing it's still got the same issues
  14. The TCM looks to be full of mud/silt Got it all cleaned up and tested the plug What are the wires the the twist caps on them for....
  15. I have an shifting(?) issue when putting my truck into drive. It feels like it's starting in 3rd or 4th. It barely moves and feeling like it's going to dog down and die. When starting all the way down in 1st/2nd it takes off just fine. I've already freshed the grounds on the block. My next idea was to replace the TCM. Any other ideas?
  16. Passengers side door. The top corner is to high. Just need to fiddle with it more to get it right I had the same problem with mine. I adjusted it to fit right and it now has settled and is causing issues with the latch. Gotta bring it back up slightly. If I were you I'd set it just slightly higher than it should be and it should settle into position after a few weeks. I'll see if my OCD allows it... the drivers door is good the pass side is high. I'll try and leave them and see what happens
  17. Passengers side door. The top corner is to high. Just need to fiddle with it more to get it right
  18. Started working on the motor. First thing I started with was the vacuum lines What was removed: What went back in: I think I'm missing some of my ERG Is this a suitable ground replacement?
  19. Got the strikers on and the doors shut.... they still have alignment issues
  20. Yup. Should eliminate any measuring errors Found a local guy parting a 86 XLS. Picked up these fender emblems for 10$
  21. I was going to cut the b pillers out of an xj for a template. I got the strikers
  22. Ran to the junkyard today. Picked up some 97+ plus camel crank door cards and a center console Still need to go back to get a few things. I forgot and bring a grinder and cut out 97+ strikers. I'm using a bungee cord to hold the door shut right now
  23. Homemade drop brackets of some sort... they're also welded in :(
  24. It needs some work... I haven't even posted it all yet.... Overall the truck is a good starting platform otherwise I wouldn't have picked it up
  25. I loosened the top bolts and was able to push the top in to line things up better. Still need new strikers before I do a final tightening
