  1. Well son O b*@$£. Sooo is there a c clip, snanrong in there that comes out before attempting this ? I'm going to give it a go round before attempting to destroy the matting in the truck to pull it back tonaccess the boot over the trans. Thanks
  2. Yes I am talking about removing the top half of the shifter, not the one from the top of the trans. I have done it a hundred times in f body's, and they are easily accessible to get.. I just want to know how to get the top( long shifter handle ) off of throne that bolts into the top of the trans. Thanks
  3. Truck needs a slave put in it, upon removing the console I see that the rubber mat only allows access to a few of the bolts that hold the second boot on. I can see where the top shifter slides over the one that comes out of the trans.. What holds that in place ? A retaining ring or clip ? How do I get it out or off ? I'm going to assume something heat and pry like hell.. I don't want to pull the entire thing from the trans because the flooring is in good shape on the truck and I know damn well it will rip trying to get it out under the bottom of the dash.. Thanks for any insight John
  4. You can get a pre 07 truck Tb off a 4.8-6.0. They are 78mm and dbc or dbw
  5. So what ever came of this ? Bump for a really old thread....
  6. Thanks guys, from a glance under there it appears to be a 35. But if you are saying it's will fit either or that works as well
  7. Seems like a great idea.. I figured I would get a answer from some one that had a set maybe laying around.. Its fugn 10 deg here and snow.. I honestly don't feel like doing that in the freezing cold weather if I am able to get a answer from some other guys that have obviously been into these trucks a lot longer then my self.. But thanks for the stellar answer..
  8. Hey all, been looking for info and it is hard to find much on these trucks. Scored a 87 che for a really good deal. Well it is only a 2wd, I have had the urge to toss some cheapy steel TM5 wheels on it with decent profile tires and lower it.. My question is does anyone know how far apart, center to center the u bolt holes are on the rear leaf bottom plates? It's been cold and raining here and haven't been able to get under it to measure.. I figured one of the u bolt kits would work for it.. Any help would be great, would like to order a kit for the back tonight.. thank you l, John
