  1. Once you go over 2.5"-3" in front, you'll need: An adjustable track bar (preferably with a double shear bracket) $250-$300 Adjustable control arms - at 4" you can get away with just lowers. At 5-6" you'll need both upper and lower $300+ Extended sway bar links - either fixed ($75) or discos $150 At 5+ SOA anything under 32's will look silly. So tires $600-$800 The reason for swapping axles is usually to re-gear since 33" tires with a D35 and 3.55 gears is sketchy, Regearing your present set-up is usually more work and/or more money than just swapping in axles with the proper gearing. You might be able to find built axles but they're not cheap So, to do a proper SOA with proper tires, proper gears is possibly from 2K to 4K. If you just weld on some perches and jack it up over the axle without addressing the front axles and it's geometry, you'll be sorely disappointed. Just sayin" I have a Cherokee lifted 6.5 inches on brand new 35s I basically from what I understand have everything I need for up front I just need to figure out how to lift the rear because from what I read The rear xj springs are not as long as the mj , so I won't need to spend anywhere near 2 to 4K
  2. So I have a amc 20 in my rig now and was wondering what I would need to do the SOA and how much lift I should expect all the treads I read talked about people swapping a different rear then they already had and I was wondering what I would need have a 6.5 inch front lift set up off an xj and I'm trying to get the rear end somewhere around that hight and don't really wanna buy a whole lift
  3. Who cares haha if you break stuff you get to have fun fixing it Gaga
  4. Well do me a favor and share that ls install with detail haha I've been reading and reading and reading and I still feel lost haha

  6. I understand I just saw a YouTube vid where the guy made a cluster and it had all led digital gauges and I really like the idea of that , I also wanted to get the 97 interior swap done before I got the 5.3 so I didn't have to do em both at once , I know there will be fabrication involved with the dash mounting and I'm really not trying to have to deal with that when I'm trying to put a new drive train in , I feel like it would make everything go smoother if I already had the interior all sorted out not to mention the garage/parking area where I will be doing the work is small so I need to get the donor xj out before I can bring the donor 5.3 in
  7. Dude I just went threw your entire thread nice build so far I'm starting to get parts to swap 97+ on mine and stick a 5.3 in, I already have the donor Cherokee now I'm just keeping me eye out for a good price on a donor 5.3 truck
  8. I understand that this subject has been beat to death but... I have a 86 with. 2.5 and I plan to put a 5.3 in her , as of right now I have a 97 Cherokee donor I was going to do the interior swap... My question is what do I need to get the lights turn signals and heat working, I don't care about the dash cluster as I plan to make my own I understand people say you need the "whole" harness but I'm not doing a 4.0 swap and not sure what exactly I would need for lights, fuel and heat
