  1. ya mines a short bed i tried fitting it in there but the hook brackets for the straps are in the way at it will be really close to the drive shaft, tomorrow ill look at what it will take to mount it where the spare tire was but need to use this tank its brand new
  2. ok so how would one go about making a 20 g Comanche tank fit in a mj that came with the 18 or 16 gallon tank?? i guess my stupid @$$ ordered the wrong tank assuming that if it came with it as an option it should fit. and they won't take the one i got back because i modified it and the right ones still $125 even with the 20% discount the offered me. so how can i make this freaking thing work?
  3. I'm putting a new tank sending unit and switching to an inline pump. I'm going to put the pump on the factory circuit, but I'm running a whole new one for the sending unit. do you think i should add an extra ground grounding the tank to the body? i read somewhere that you should use the same ground point for the sending unit and the gauge
  4. ok cool so for my aftermarket gauge ill use the 0-90 ohm wire that should work well enough
  5. does any one know what the ohm range should be for the fuel level sending unit from an 87 mj?
  6. from what I'm reading here the d35 in there should have 3.07 gears. ive read some of the carriers are different and some times you have to find matching ones. will the 3.55 ring mount to the 3.07 carrier?
  7. 96* my bad came with Aw4 and anp242 thats in my MJ now Since your '96 was a Sport, it had 3.55 gears. I will second the advice to look for a 97+ 8.25..........or other.......... You'll be dollars ahead and fewer headaches. i would but its not in the budget right now. i really want a 8.25 from a zj with disc breaks but i don't have the time or place to cut off all the mounts and weld perches paint ect. I'm just trying to get it off road as cheap as possible for the time being. i found this used set online http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Dana-35-ring-and-pinion-gears-46131-48181-39-11-3-55-ratio-gear-Tj-XJ-WJ-/401219911454?hash=item5d6a91ff1e:g:qygAAOSwKOJYHJP7&vxp=mtr it should hold me over for a little while, I'm moving into a house in a few months then ill get a good 8.25. should i wait to conform the ratio in my d30 before ordering anything or should the ratio be pretty set? my xj was stock besides having 31's on it so i doubt any one did any swapping
  8. 96* my bad came with Aw4 and anp242 thats in my MJ now
  9. I'm not sure, I'm rebuilding my d30 high pinion this weekend and I'm looking to match the rear to the front. my mj was originally 2wd 5spd and my donor d30 is from my old 95 cherokee sport with a auto trans so i know the ratios most likely don't match. my d30 dosnt have the tag with the gear ratio any more so i won't know till i can count teeth while I'm re doing it
  10. so I'm about to rebuild and re gear my rear end to match my D30 up front but I'm not sure what axle it is, i originally thought it was a C8.25, but i was looking for the tag that might have the gear ratio on it when i noticed DANA stamped on the cover above the year of manufacture. also the shape of the cover looks a little more like the D35. can i get a positive id so i can order the proper gears?
  11. And it passed even though it started leaking fuel lol
  12. Boom I got reverse lights!! Shouldn't be anything that will keep me from passing inspection tomorrow, well unless they look for my charcoal can and check to see if my egr is hooked up lol
  13. Cool I just checked here in Texas they aren't required to pass safety inspection but I still want them. I should be all set to get it inspected tomorrow and painted next week!!
  14. Oh and couldn't I tap spine it with a new switched hot? In that location it should be after the factory switch location right?
  15. It was a manual but I converted to automatic when I did my 4x4 swap, and the special shifter I got to use my wa4 without the trans control module didnt come with a built in switch for the reverse lights
  16. All figured out! Oh btw would the wire to the reverse lights happen to be on the harness? I nerd to rig up a switch for them. My shifter didn't have have a switch for them
  17. cool, so it dosnt matter what location i pick. the R pin on the head light switch or the B pin on C157 should both work? and is it the same DK Blue wire in both spots? also i was thinking of using a tap spline. it should be fine but i noticed on some f these older wires they don't always give a good connection
  18. There's a plug right beneath the parking break pedal on the drivers side, it has 10 wires and is gray. Wires are orng/blk, brown, white, red, blk, blk/blu, white/blk, red/blk, grn/white, blk/white
  19. so if I'm understanding this right, i jump to the dark blue wire or what ever wire is hooked to the R pin on the back of my head light switch and in theory everything even my license plate lights with flash?? I'm basing this off of pg 69, and the switch diagram on pg 97
  20. Ok I'm about 90% done installing my alarm system on my 87 mj but I've hit one little snag.. I can't figure out where to jump my white wire to for my light flash function. Its the last thing I need. The instructions say it should jump to the parking light circuit but ill be honest I have no clue where that that would be and the 88 electrical manual hadn't been much help. The alarm can send out a (+)12v or a (-) 200mA signal Any help would be much appreciated
  21. oh on a unrelated note, has any one installed an alarm system on their mj?? i have it all wired up and working i just don't know where to hook my hot line to make my lights flash.. do i jump it to a pin on the flasher relay on the fuse panel? can't find any info on line for alarm systems on xj or mjs
  22. thats the 2 in the gauge pod beneath the switch panels this is my old ones before they got stolen and my first switch panel the new ones are the same i didnt want to pack the cluster to full of gauges
  23. its all in figuring out the right pins and go into it with an idea what you want. i was suppose to have all matching red but summit sent me the wrong gauge. i have to take it all apart Tuesday to wire the rest of the speedo with a gps sending unit. but the brights, turn signal and ignition run light are functional, the bottom 3 lights are going to be my 4x4 indicator lights for my np242. 2 amber for part time hi/lo and full time. i wish i could separate them a light for each but oh well
  24. pg 77 - Instrument panel lamps pg 87 or 90 - Lamps: Turn/Stop/Backup pg 102 - Connector views (C203 & C204) pg 120-121 - Instrument Cluster Sorry about this. I used a 1988 Cherokee/Wagoneer Electrical Manual. no worries got it all figured out
