is any one a machinist??
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
basically i need plates so i can wield a curved tube on them making kind of a intake tube to bring my throttle body around to the same side as the outlet -
hey guys I'm looking for a machinist who can help me out. I'm having to change the intake setup for my supercharger build and I need some steel throttle body plates made. Due to the destruction of hurricane Harvey here in south Texas I can't find anything down here. I just need a two 3/16-1/4 steel plates made that are in the shape of the square throttle body gaskets for the 4.0. Only stipulation is I need to be able to wield it. Can any one help??

dana 35 rebuild questions
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well the hardest off roading its going to see for a while is the beach. And its only temporary until I can find a ford 9" or something else local. And it only cost me total of $200 for ring/pinion all the seals, bearings, bolts, shims ECT so I figured id get it done so I can finally use my 4x4. -
ok guys I have all the parts to re gear and rebuild my Dana 35 in my 87 mj, but as much as I hate to admit it I've never messed with a rear axle. Are there any special tools I need besides a feeler gauge to measure backlash, and any tips that I should know? And are there any write us for a r&r on a d35? any help would be nice, this is my last step to finish my 4x4 swap!

Quick question on fuel/trans line
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
although I probably don't need it I stil want to run one, my engine has some miles on it and I want to give it ever advantage to not blow up before the rebuild lol plus it should make a few hp, just like how ill be running a intercooler too. Probably don't need it but it'll be nice to have to keep down the risk of pre detonation with the fuel control and timing controls and running 93oct, I should safely be able to push it hard and be confident it won't blow up lol. But I'm also planning ahead because once I do my stroker rebuild, the m90 won't be enough so ill upgrade ro a m112 or m122. And I've even played with the idea of being really crazy and duel charging it adding a turbo too -

Quick question on fuel/trans line
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ok cool thanks, what about the fuel line? -
hey guys quick question, I'm installing a trans and fuel cooler as part as my M90 build on my 87 MJ and i need to know a few things. 1. for my fuel cooler, is the fuel line going into the back of my fuel rail closest to the fire wall the inlet line? as i understand my fuel system theory, the fuel pressure regulator almost always on the return side of the rail in a return system. i need to cut this line not only to add my fuel cooler before the rail but to add a T in it to run a line to my 7th injector rail. 2. for my trans cooler. which line is the return line coming out of the trans cooler in the radiator to the transmission? the upper line or the lower one?

throttle body swap revisit?
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
do you have any better photos of how you made the adapter for the TPS? it looks like you took a piece of round metal bar cut a notch in it to fit on the throttle shaft and drilled and tapped a bolt in to catch the TPS arm? -

This is what I found http://store.jeepersandcreepers.com/index.php/throttle-bodies/65mm-jeep-throttle-body-spacer-91-06.html It would be perfect for adding a single injector fuel rail for my 7th injector and look good -

Crap.. I wonder if I can make an adapter plate of some kind -
throttle body swap revisit?
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Oh hey is the bolt pattern for the renix throttle body the same as 96-00 throttle body?? I found a throttle body spacer that would be perfect to mount my 7th injector fuel rail on if the bolt pattern is the same! -
Ok guys real simple question, can the newer heads and stroker kits be used on my renix block with the renix system? I want to build a stroker for my 87 Comanche when the boost blows it up but the newer stroker kits and heads which performed better to start are all I can find.

throttle body swap revisit?
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Short answer yes. If I remember right the stock remix 4.0 flows less than 380cfm at redline and te throttle body is supposed to be able to flow almost double that. The m90 flows 240cfm at 3000rph and 675cfm at 8000rpm which we all know a stock 4.0 us getting no where near. Also take into account the original engine the supercharger was on is a 3.8l with a smaller throttle body. Now after I drop a stroker in and switch to a m112 or m122 then no ill have to go big bore -

ok quick question, i went to the junk yard and got a throttle body from a 98 grand cherokee and I'm getting ready to adapt the TPS. i went to the parts store and saw the price difference between the Auto TPS and the Manual TPS. whats the difference? my truck was originally manual can the auto one be used in place of the manual one?? -
throttle body swap revisit?
DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well i can get an HO one at the junk yard no problem but what about the IAC? will an HO one work the same if i splice the wires? and does the TPS put out the same signal if i splice that in? -
ok guys I'm almost done with my supercharger build but i want to find a more compact throttle body to put on the back of my supercharger instead of the big blocky renix throttle body. what can i go get at the junk that will flow the same or more and takes the same IAC and TPS and is a little more compact???

DirtyDeeds replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The Kenne Bell/Autorotor supercharger and Laminova water/air intercooler were part of an Avenger kit for a 2.5l TJ but i bought them separately and built everything myself. I haven't had it on a dyno but Avenger use to advertise their kit at 182HP on a stock 2.5l,who knows what it's making on mine i it a noticeable change since before? -
