  1. Of course monday when I got a hold of the guy with the 4cyl. truck, he decided he didn't want to sell it. It had been on craigs list for at least 3 weeks. I seem to have a knack at finding cars for sale that the people change there mind on. Anyways, if someone could answer me this???? I've read that the 4 cyl. comanches have a shorter firewall, thus not allowing a 4.0 swap. Is this correct?
  2. Thanks. My thoughts are I will run the 4 cyl. till I find a donor with an AX-15 & just swap it all. This will work correct? XJ donors are very abundent in my area
  3. Is this a 4cylinder? Yes. It is.
  4. I was just thinking this
  5. Thanks a lot. The trucks about 200 miles away so it looks like I will be driving there this week if it doesn't sell.
  6. Alright. Its all coming back to me now. I've had a few BA-10's & was warned. If I crawl under the truck should I be able to find the code pretty easy? Probably on the tag I'm guessing.
  7. Newbie question---- So is the AX-15 is an auto tranny & the BA-10 is a standard? sorry
  8. Your right. & I do plan on lifting it. I'm going to have to hold out for a 6cyl. It just seems tough to find a manual transmission much less even finding one of these trucks. I've bought & sold a lot of cars over the years & I would have to say this is one of the toughest car/truck searches I have ever encountered. Very few.
  9. Thanks for all the great information. I don't think I'm scared of the 4 cyl. now. Another reason for looking at the 4cyl. truck is that it seems most of the 6 cyl. are automatics & I prefer a manual transmission for off road use. I keep finding 4 cyl. with manual trannys. :dunno:
  10. I'm currently looking for an MJ. I've owned a cj, yj, & a few XJ's in the past but they all had the 6 cyl. Which I really loved, but I have found a truck that I like that has the 4 cyl.,. My question is.... was there a carb. & fuel injection model? & what are the other up's & downs of the 4 cyl? The truck I found is a 89. Thanks in advance for any help.
