  1. I've also been wondering that, because my buddy has the 35" BFG's on his f-250 and just replaced them but the guy at the tire place told him they were discontinued and whatever was in stock is whats left. I don't know if this is true or not but i would imagine they would be doing some sort of change since they just made the KM2's. Might have a new tire to check out soon
  2. Thanks for the tips, i'm guessing that OEM jeep wheels are around 5.5" backspacing? I was looking at running cragar soft 8's and the most backspacing i've found that they come with is 4.75". I noticed that SuperWade said he was rubbing on the frame with OEM wheels and a 31 so from what i've gathered, 4.75" should be a happy medium. They would still poke out some but not nearly as much, and i could pull the flares off if i had to, doesn't bother me too much. Does anyone know where i could find an inexpensive steel wheel, close to stock specs. Thanks again.
  3. in the very near future i will be buying new tires, i am going to buy 31 x 10.50s and my first question is, will i be able to fit a 31 on an after market rim with 4 in, of backspacing with a coil spacer and WJ control arms? I know you can run no lift an fit 31's on stock rims, but i would like to get a complete set of new shoes. Now i need some recommendations on tires. This is going to be my daily driver, but i will take off road as much as possible. Not looking for it to be a mud truck after seeing what it did to my xj :fs1:, but more trail riding and stuff along those lines. I am torn between an A/T or a M/T. I would like a M/T and have been looking at the BFG KM, and the Firestone Destination MT but am a little hesitant on the fact of neither of them being siped :ack: . I have also been looking at General Grabber AT2's mainly for there price, i have heard good things about them, but lately have been seeing bad reviews on them. Also the old stand by is the BFG A/T, but i still am not sure what i want to do yet. Looking to see what other people are running and what their opinions are these tires, or what you guys would recommend as you are the pros at this. Thanks a lot
  4. found this on CL, a little pricey though http://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/cto/1477028762.html
  5. I am getting closer to doing my drivetrain swap and would like to put an AX-15 in while i have everything out. The donor is an 88 mj which i now only came with the BA/10 but the PO said that he swapped the motor/trans in from an 89 XJ, but i don't know whether this is true or not. What i am wondering is if there is anyway of telling the difference between a AX-15 and the peugeot. I know there are posts on this but i am still confused on the fact, thanks for the help
  6. Thanks paul, i'll definitley come back to you for more parts if you've got what i'm looking for
  7. Sounds like a plan, i'll just run the bolts up from the bottom and be done with it. thanks for all the help
  8. Definitely coils
  9. I was thinking about doing the same thing, did you drill all the way through the floors and then run the bolts through the bottom? That was how i was thinking if doing it
  10. Did a test fit of the bucket seats today, fit great, now i just need to fix my floor and replace 3 seat studs and they'll be in for good. Thanks to Paul (mfpdm) for the seats, there in awesome shape and look brand new.
  11. Also, since these pretty much go hand in hand i have three seat studs that need to be replaced due to seized nuts and one that just rusted away, after i grind these down i was looking for people who have had this problem and what they did to resolve it
  12. jpnjim what thickness of steel did you use, 1/8 in 1/4 in?
  13. I've searched the forum pretty extensively to see if anyone had a good source for replacement floor pans. I've looked at quadratecs xj floor pans but was wondering if anyone knew of anything cheaper. I only need the driver side so 90 bucks isn't too bad but every penny counts. Thanks
  14. Got the front shocks, took a little longer since the old shocks wanted to be difficult. Motor should be comin out next week sometime then she'll be on the road
  15. Ok thanks, just wanted to make sure
  16. I just put the shocks from my 88 4x4 in my 87 2x4 and was wondering if these were any different in length, i can't tell if it has changed in height as it is currently not running and on a hill. I was considering a coil spacer and just wanted to see if these would compensate any
  17. Yea, hell creek is the way to go
  18. no, i know how they mount to the top as i just did the shocks on it and on my cherokee, those are for the bottom where they attach to the axle, these are for the top where they go through the wheel well.
  19. I think i'm going to go with new shocks, and i've also been seeing shock mount conversions like this, an i figured if i do this that i should be able to use rear mj shocks on the front as they will mount the same as the rear.
  20. i've been looking for the add a leaves on hc an have only found ones for cherokees, nothing for mj's
  21. my leaf springs are still good, and i wasnt looking for too much lift in the rear, more of a leveling kit, motion has shackles that ill give about an inch in the rear so it should give me a little lift in the rear while leveling out the front
  22. the daystar kit on HC's website, think its 1 3/4 spacer an an extended shackle, but i think i might just go with a spacer up front to level it out
  23. Just double checking that if i throw spacers an a shackle on my manche that i won't need bigger shocks, i'm pretty sure i don't but just making sure before i go ahead and buy it
  24. I've been looking into the same thing, watch your gearing when you move to bigger tires
  25. And i just found a 35 out of a 92 cherokee for sale, got 3.73 gears, guy says make an offer on it. Hes also got an aw4 and a np231 from it for sale if any ones interested
