Thanks Hornbrod for posting pictures for me.

Lol thanks. Will definitely pick them up. Will be nice to have a spare set.

Hopefully this link works. http://images.craigslist.org/00L0L_9TbXZAd0ewO_600x450.jpg

Okay thanks. He must have the wrong pattern listed. It has the Jeep logo on the rims so either has to be a 4.5 or a 5. The tires alone are worth what he is asking so will pick them up and hope they bolt on. ☺

Did jeep ever offer a 5×4.75 as a bolt pattern? I just saw an add on Craigslist where the guy is selling a set of tires with rims for a jeep with that bolt pattern.

How to move your vacuum canister
CJ's MJ replied to Dillithium's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Holy crap I don't even have one. I was wondering why I had vacuum lines by my headlight. Discovered them while replacing radiator. My to do list keeps growing and growing. Lol -
The wife was no help at all. Lol. She is to scared of the truck lol. I can hear a popping sound when turning the wheel by myself but unfortunately that doesn't help me much. I went under and made sure all bolts were secure. Popping sound is still there. I couldn't get pictures done today it was raining again.

Agreed I'm off tomorrow and will really check out the front end. Make sure everything is tight. When I bought the truck it was already lifted and I don't know if it was done the right way or not. I am considering just buying new parts and just replace everything. That way I know for certain that it's right. Any suggestions on kits? Currently it has a 4" lift on it I believe.

I guess I could be considered a local now. Been here almost 10 years. Originally from Texas. Met my wife who is from here and we moved to Guam. We have plans to move back to the states in the next few years. For the most part life is great here. Very relaxed and everyone is friendly.
-
I probably need to replace most of the front end. It is just hard to get parts needed here. Been trying to find a Cherokee to use parts off of but everyone selling their's here want around $4,000. Can't see paying that much for a parts car. Living on a island has its down sides at times lol.

Wish I could say the same. Lol. I have new tie rods and ball joints. I still have a lot of play in steering. I want to replace steering gear just haven't been able to find one locally yet. May have to break down and pay the outrageous shipping charges soon. I put on new shocks same time as damper. I was hearing a lot of bumping noise coming from front end when driving on the awful roads we have here. I was thinking bad shocks but it didn't help out at all. I need to replace wheel bearings as well have them ordered but still waiting for them to show up.

I was just looking at location of my steering damper. The previous owner has it connected to the tie rod and the axle. I replaced the damper shortly after buying the truck and mounted it the same way. (Did not have manual at time.) Looking at the repair manual it appears to be wrong. According to it I should have connected it to the center link and frame. I have been driving around for a while with it like it's mounted and after replacing it I noticed improvement. My real question is should I mount as manual states or does it really matter?

I wasn't able to check it out yet. It's been raining a lot here lately. I would like to buy it but I think what he is asking and what I'm willing to pay for it is worlds apart. Hopefully will be able to meet with him over the weekend.

I am going to try and check it out tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Will see if he will let me take some better pictures of the inside.

I recently saw this ad. The guy just relocated here and is selling it. I know this isn't in the craigslist section but don't think anyone here would be interested in getting it and having to ship 8000+ miles. https://micronesia.craigslist.org/cto/4964218213.html Basically just sharing a discovery here on island. I can't claim mine is the only MJ on island any more. Lol

I didn't see the word grinding in the description of what was wrong. I saw weird noise. I do agree would not be either if it's a grinding sound. LOL
-
I'm far from being an expert on this but a few thoughts come to mind. Vibration can be coming from an unbalanced wheel. Worse when turning I would consider looking into tie rods maybe as well.

Thanks again for the information.

I started checking into some of my wiring issues. I saw this in the service manual and am curious as to what they are. Looking at mine they look fairly worn. Is this something that is important to have or can it be bypassed? Before today I never knew they existed. Lol Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Got the truck up and running. I just found out I have a faulty fuel gauge. I ran out of gas on my test drive. Made me worry that I did something wrong. Lol. It was doing almost the exact same thing to me as before. Loss of power and started sputtering with a little backfiring. Luckily it only cost $7 (cost of fuel) figure out what went wrong. Lol. So knowing I have a unreliable fuel gauge will just fill it up and keep it full instead of letting it run down to 1/4. Wanted to thank everyone for being so helpful couldn't have done it myself without you guys. ☺
-
Okay that's good to know. I will look for one but not going to worry if I don't find one.
-
Should I try to locate one? The truck was running just fine without out it until the wire melted lol
-
No I don't it's just the CPS. I didn't know there was a plastic piece to cover it. Lol.

My next task is trying to fix some wiring issues. Will post some pictures of what it looks like later.
