  1. Thanks for that part number Stroker!
  2. Thanx guys. Fuel pump was a breeze after getting the lockring off. Glad it wasn't destroyed because AA didn't have any and, working in the dark, had to reuse it. Had to reform it a little with a ball peen on the anvil side of the bench vise but got it straightened out and all is good!
  3. Btw where do the replacement chains for the trans. case come from?
  4. Wow what an ordeal but thnx for posting the fuel sender pics. Beat the ring up pretty bad and couldn't get one from AA so had to beat it back into shape and reinstall it so I could come to work today! Will have to check AZ and oreily for a replacement. Or napa? So on to the resistor bypass!
  5. Been watching the website for a couple yrs or so. He's generating hydrogen on board and piping it into the intake iirc he's claiming like 30% increase in mileage and maybe 70% reduction of emissions. He's set up his system in series for tractor trailers even. Got generators running on hydro. Been dying to set one up just gotta get to THAT PLACE in my place. Have a look. I'm betting he's gotta be there still.
  6. Hey can I bother you to throw me another pic plz? Should prob just set up the jumper. Being a mediocre mechanic I'd hope to get it right the first time! Not something I need to guess at. I'm noticing that most people have at least one set of fog lights and here in VA the inspector made me remove mine when I got my first inspection. (truck came from MD but don't think it was its original home) Sez they must go OFF if I hit my high beams. Sounds like crap to me but like I said I live in VA. Man! My avatar got chopped!
  7. Yes a very large one! Thx bud
  8. Thanx guys. Resting my knuckles now, too dark now anyway.
  9. The Texas conman? He's an Isrelli (sp?) engineer responsible for the website "water4gas.com". He used to live in Tampa but now L.A. Didn't know your proximity to Tampa or if you'd even seen the site. VERY interesting read. Apologies for trying to hijack the thread!
  10. I WAS wrongfully pounding on the outer part of the ring! Can't wait to get this done so I can move on to other issues. I'll lose the ballast resistor and splice the wires together? Is this a recommendation or just a matter of course for when the resistor finally fails? Anyway got the Wife a ZJ about three yrs ago and caught the JEEP FEVER! After about a few months saw an MJ for the first time and went nuts. Found mine a year later. Don't know if I have the timeline correct but funny thing is I was reading over the CC posts for what seems like a year before I even got the truck! I guess I was preparing myself for lots of wrenching. Plus it's my DD so gotta keep it up! Will check imgur so I can start sharing. Thanx for the photo. Loads of help as I've had the new pump waiting here for like two weeks while trying to figure out a simple lock ring. Thank You!
  11. Looking forward to doing this one. I'm also wondering about a new/different bed light third brake light setup. Do you know if it can b done easily enough?
  12. I run bottling kegging and canning machines at a local craft brewery. The new "Mr. President" is a firm believer in the caste system and doesn't speak to me. Thus I remain at the bottom rung for a third year. On the upshot I have nine free cases of beer in my shop! yay. At least my loving wife makes money. Won't name the brewery because the bung hole (hee hee) doesn't get that form of respect from me. Did I just say that!?!?
  13. Hey Outlaw. U familiar w the name "Ozzy Freedom"?
  14. Still pounding on that darn lock ring. My knuckle can't take any more. That's a strainer from Advance, right?
  15. Sorry for the long response time. Enjoying the spring after a wicked winter! And yes the CPS was the culprit. Working now on the Bosch 69302 retrofit and taking a break from breaking my knuckles trying to loosen the lock ring! The pump is loud enough to hear in the cab now. Otherwise all seems well. Got through Cruisers list and will upgrade/add grounds and the supplemental wiring harnesses as I am able. 88 Pioneer short box 4wd 231 tcase (where are the new chains to b had?) Still a stock truck but I'm happy w it. Paid a bit for it but it's in great shape. 230,xxx. Power options. It's one of the blue w blue flares models. Wanna get black flares. It'll b all black and blue and I call it 'Bruiser'. Can even get the Wife to turn a wrench sometimes so it's all good. Think I'm gonna get set up and get a sticker and a t shirt. Thanx much again. You'll b hearing from me soon enough to b sure

    A little humor

Two old boys are driving in the country one Sunday taking In the scenery with a cooler full of some chilly bottles of beer. The driver catches a glimpse of a speed trap and knows he's about to get pulled over and they've had plenty of beer at this point. So he looks to his buddy and says quick get rid of these beers! But wait. First peel a label and stick it on your arm. The puzzled passenger peels one for each of them and gets rid of the rest. They get pulled for speeding and when the cops walks up to the drivers door he beholds these two fools and asks You boys been drinking? The driver quickly says No Sir! We're on the patch!
  17. Hello Knucklehead. This is my second post. It's been several months since I got some help with my CPS. I hope I remembered to thank Pete and others who gave support. Been what seems like a very long time and can't even remember who I was speaking with. Was a wicked winter for me. So I got the Bosch fuel pump because of the noise I'm hearing. Can Even hear it in the cab now. Question is am I going to have to beat the snot out of this thing to get it off and if so am I catching the lock ring at a proper point. Haven't done one of these for I'll bet 25 yrs. can I impose on u to post a photo of the lock ring and the points I can strike on to loosen it? I may b expecting the 25 yr old ring to pop off too easily! After I learn to navigate the site better ill post pics myself. What do most of you use to post pics? Was looking at Tapatalk but need to consult my tech savvy wife and kids first I guess. Anyway it still runs but is very loud. Keep spraying PBlaster and pounding away. Just worry about damaging something in the process ( like a hole in the gas tank ) 88 pioneer 4.0 231 tcase (where can we get chains?) 4wd Short box Worked through Cruisers tips and will update grounds as I'm able. All else seems well and is still a stock truck. Feel like I'm rambling on so now u talk I'll listen and take a breath
  18. Thx cruiser and benjy. I am on it. During the time I spend working on the MJ I have to pay attention to my wife's ZJ. No interior lights and rapid blinkers w headlights on. Does anyone know a GC site that may b nearly as good as this one or know where I'll find body and chassis grnds on a 97 GC?
  19. Hello. New guy needs help. 88 pioneer 4.0 4x4 220,xxx. It flat out died. After finally arranging to pull it out back (couple hrs ltr) it started. Ran long enough to get back to my yard...and died. Will restart after waiting but will eventually stall. I've only just started Cruisers list. Now I'm jumped ahead to the tps which does not give me a voltage reading on the engine side. Actually got readings last night but being so dark I wanted to recheck today, next to nothing now. Have to really dig to get ANY readings. Did get the tranny side set. It was a concern so did it then got the probs with the engine side. Hope this is at least clear as mud but anything you guys can throw at me will be appreciated. Got to get er back! She's my DD! Want to check the cps at least for build up but I don't even know where to spot it. Thx
