  1. One more data point for RE brackets without support brackets. No real hard rock play but lots trails and mud. Used with 4.5" RE coils and 1" spacers on 88 MJ. Running stock controls for now. No problems.
  2. I'm looking for track bar experience/recommendations for an 88 with 5"-5.5" lift. Do plan to wheel mild trails, no rocks. Wanted to avoid a drop pitman arm if possible without causing great problems. I have been O.K. in the past with TRE type adjustables on XJs with 3-4". Does anyone have experience with the Rough Country 7575 track bar? I think it is their older model for 4-6". Was also considering the RE1600 that still used the factory frame mount but has the heim joint. I have 4.5" RE coils and 1" spacers with RE CAD brackets on the front. Thanks for any recommendations or advice.
  3. Just FYI, the Rusty's "3.5 inch" add-a-leaf gave me about 2.25 inches of lift. Guess I will add the shackles to get the rest in the rear. Figured the 3.5 was for an XJ but trusted the guy I spoke with on the phone at Rusty's.
  4. That's about what I suspected. Thanks for the input. I will post the outcome for future reference.
  5. It was not application specific on the site so I called Rusty's to ask. They seemed to understand the differences between XJ and MJ leaf springs and said that I should get very close to 3.5". I'm still cleaning up the old springs so I have not put them back together. Just wondered if I might be better off to go ahead with the short leaf and the Rusty's leaf to try to get 3-4". I have RE 4.5" coils and control arm drop brackets for the front. This is my first MJ. All my experience has been with XJs that were also DD's. Thanks.
  6. Installing a lift on an 88 long bed that I rescued on it's way to the scales. I have a set of Rusty's 3.5" full length add-a-leafs to install. Does anyone have experience with Rusty's add-a-leafs to know if I can expect to get 3.5"? The leaf doesn't look any beefier or arched then the stock leafs when removed. I also have a short 2" add-a-leaf from another manufacturer. What amount of lift might I expect if I installed the Rusty's 3.5" as well as replaced the overload spring with the 2" short add-a-leaf? Anyone done that sort of pack before? I also have an extra set of RC shackles that could give more if I don't get what I need out of the add-a-leafs. Any recommendations? (Other than full packs, for now) Thanks
  7. I am fairly new to MJs and recently rescued an 88 headed to the scales. The fuel tank and sender were pretty rusty. Cleaned the sender up to find that the flange was too far gone. The electrical sender and float are fine. I am looking for a good sender flange w/tubes or the whole thing. I will have to buy a new pump. Would like to see what is out there before a buy a new 23.5 gallon tank to replace the rusty one. Thanks for any help in locating one or recommending a good alternative since I need the tank as well.
  8. Did you locate a good sending unit? I am doing he same search. Wanted to see what was out there before I bought a new stock tank. I may jus try repairing mine. What pump did you buy or are you using?
