  1. Yes mobile app. Sorry about that. I think now the problem is due to a sensor. Any recommendations on which ones to check for a hard start symptom MAP TPS O2 CTS EGR valve?
  2. Got some results from the pressure test. Of course it starts this time. Pressure stays right at 31psi. Should it be higher or is this adequate? Could my problem have something to do with an air sensor? I have fuel and spark but possibly no fuel delivered when cranking....ideas anyone?
  3. Finally got some results today. Laid under the dash and checked every connection again. I didn't think I did anything and then went for a drive and the blower motor kicked on. Surprise. One of the connections must have needed that slight jiggle. Happy to have it fixed. Hopefully it is here to stay working
  4. Checked the plug... Did not change anything. I know there is just one wire or plug that has a bad connection... But where? Recently rained and I realized no wipers along with the above list. Any other suggestions for tracking down the cause? Could it be the ignition switch itself?
  5. Seems like a likely culprit, ignition has been acting strange recently. Electrical portion located in column?
  6. I wiggled the connectors... No change. I was afraid someone was going to say more tar. Just recently did c101 connector. It is just strange it changed when I was taking/putting back together the dash. I'll check that connection more in-depth. Another question... There are two bolts on the drivers side just in front of the kick panel, I thought those were for grounding wires? There are zero grounds on either of them. What is this part to the left of the fuse block? Mine seems in bad shape.
  7. I recently installed a speedo cable and I am happy to say it is working well. In the process of gaining access and wiring the radio I lost power to the following areas: Radio Blower Turn/ B/U Inst lps Cigarette lighter Before everything was working fine I have checked and fuse block has no power coming into those areas. All fuses are fine and in-tact. I have checked connection behind fuse block and it seems to be fine. I changed, loosened, shorted something when fidgeting with the dash, but what was it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I have a red top in the comanche and yellow in my TJ. Both have served me very well. I am not sure the reason, possibly due to moving manufactuing to mexico, but when i bought my yellowtop at a local 4-wheel shop they told me there is a huge difference between the yellow top from an auto store and others you can order
  9. I abandoned all known factors and started over. Turns out I was looking in all the wrong places. Initially I had taken it to a mechanic and had a feeling it was ignition related, but not sure. He ran some tests and confirmed my suspicions. After replacing a few parts, cps ICM, still same problem. (Not impressed with my mechanic) Started over by pouring a dash of gas into throttle body. Started right up. Runs a little rough then smooths out and will re-start once warm. I have spark. I do not have fuel. Once it is running it runs very well. I thought maybe dirty fuel system/injectors and did some cleaning. It runs even smoother now but still will not start without fluid initially. I checked all motor grounds and ground behind taillight. Fuel pump kicks on when key is turned and obviously allows the truck to run. I feel like I am so close but so far. This has been a very long process. I cannot find a resistor in the engine compartment for the fuel pump while cranking. Also I do not know which relay operates the pump but if it is working the relay should be fine?
  10. Also relay with no relay on drivers side... Does anyone know what it could be for?
  11. Started yesterday no problems. Will not start today. First off can anyone identify these two open connections? I truly am stumped on this intermittent start issue. Is ignition switch even a likely culprit? I do not know where else to look.

  13. Rechecked on ground next to dipstick. Looked fine from when I cleaned it a few weeks ago. Tried starting it after and it started. No idea if that was the cause or not. There is a small single wire plug near the dipstick ground... Does anyone know what this is for or where it should be connected? Mine is just hanging out.
  14. Now it consistently cranks and won't start. Tomorrow I am going to recheck the grounds and all connections.

  16. I'll check on those things today. Just got home from work and tried to start it just out of curiosity... Didn't start. It almost made me happy that it is beginning to be consistent. If this is true when I find the problem it will start and be fixed!
  17. Recently added to my bumper, it will protect the corners much better. (When it decides to run);
  18. Sorry about that... My mistake. It is a AW4. I am continuing to have issues. As I stated before I cleaned the grounds and believed that to be the culprit... It has continued to intermittently start. When it decides not to start I can turn the motor over and get fuel but no spark AND/OR the key turns the fuel pump on and the jeep but will not crank at all. When key is turned to the start position it is as if the ignition switch turns everything off. The ignition switch can be the culprit of the second symptom... Can it also cause a no start symptom? I have changed crank sensor, ICM, checked grounds/cleaned, checked all connections and cleaned the C101, and need the truck to be reliable for trails this summer, not to mention get me to work AND start when I need to come home.
  19. After checking grounds my MJ started to work, today it decided to quit again. I do not understand what causes my frustrating scenarios. I do not understand the cause. I guess I will continue on down the list of connections to check along the above posted list. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Cleaned the grounds today. Everything seems to be mended. Only time will tell. Definately a learning experience for troubleshooting and spending zero money before replacing parts. Thank you everyone for your help. I feel like I am almost a jeep ignition expert.
  21. Would bad grounds or connections also cause the motor to idle differently? Within the last week when the truck does decide to start, it has been idling as if it is going to die...hasn't yet, but does not idle consistantly. In a way the idle is surging.
  22. between checking grounds and connections are there any components that can cause a no spark/no crank symptom? Is the ignition switch even a viable guess? I will get to work tomorrow.
  23. I know this topic has been covered numerous times but I have reached wits end and do not know where to search next. The problem started as an intermittent start issue. Spark or no spark. No obvious reason to why it would or would not start. Cranked over fine. Suspected crankshaft sensor or ignition control module at first. New ICM later thought it was fixed. Few days later proved to NOT be fixed. Time for new crank sensor. New good quality sensor installed, proved to be not the problem a few days later. Cap and rotor seem fine. New symptoms today. Cranked motor over and was a no-start day. Tried a few more time only to find the evolving characteristic of zero cranking. Starter will no longer turn when ignition is cranked. Talked with a friend that is a mechanic at the local Chrysler/jeep dealer. He said it sounds like a bad PCM or ignition switch. He recommended the PCM due to disconnecting the battery while working on it(allowing the computer to reset) then the truck working for a few days then symptoms come back. Makes sense to me. This is a test I will try tomorrow. Second was the ignition switch. Can this cause a no spark and/or no crank symptom? Easy cheaper fix. I was also wondering if all these issues can be traced to grounding problems??? Coil? I didn't think a coil could produce intermittent issues, weak or no start sure but not like this In the end I will have a complete new ignition system and will have learned a ton along the way. Until then I need help. Any help, advice, experience, suggestions are greatly appreciated.
