  1. Thank you everybody for the responses, i am truely grateful.
  2. here's what the plan was... He has a 93 Cherokee 4.0 automatic - stock. We'll call this old red. A friend of his had a 93 Cherokee 4.0 manual - complete 6" lift, everything brand spanking new down to the break shoes. He bought the entire jeep after his friend wrecked it. this jeep is totaled (major body damage, motor and everything else still in excellent condition). We're gutting old red and putting everything from the friends wrecked jeep on to his. So now we have everything from old red and we're just going to put it all in my MJ cause this peice by peice stuff is giving me a headache. Is there any surprises we should watch out for when reinstalling old reds guts on to the MJ?
  3. Thanks for all the help. So change of plans as my brother n law called dibs on the donor tranny already and i can't talk him out of it. I'm going to take his automatic tranny. It's the same year and everything as the donor aside from trannys. What would be required off the auto to make it work on my 89 mj?
  4. Saddistical, not to get off topic but you don't by chance live in Oregon do you and you found it on craigslist? There was a guy selling an MJ describing the same thing that was wrong with the MJ for around that price.
  5. So is this the ax15 and will it fit in my MJ? 1993 4.0 - Donor Cherokee http://s22.postimg.org/egax10pv5/0221141455.jpg http://s18.postimg.org/gxq2maycp/0221141456.jpg

  7. I used to run an appliance repair shop. We did in home repairs as well as sold parts to the public. We had a huge sign that read, "NO refunds on gas or electrical items, no exceptions!" Same thing was.written on the receipt and they get told before they paid, verbally. You would think that they would get the hint, but noooo. Or they try bring back the part after installing it but when we.show them proof that.a.part was installes they call us thieves.
  8. Duh, you sir are correct. I didn't even bother looking at the key opening on the donor to see if it even matched up. Thanks for the reply.
  9. This morning i went out to go through the MJ I just bought. Stuck the key in the passenger door and discovered it sticks and is very hard to turn. After looking close, it appears as if something forgien was used on both sides, damaging the locks. I was wonder if anybody has changed the door looks before and if i can use the set out of a 93 Cherokee? Neither the Cherokee nor the MJ have electric locks but I don't want to start taking things apart unless i have a replacement for it first.
  10. Incommando, What company made that truck and what did they call it?

  12. Hello everybody, I'm new to your forums, found a link on google. Yesterday I bought a 1989 Jeep Comanche 4.0 straight 6 for $1,300.00. Has a rebuilt motor and transmission. It's a 5 speed and after looking through paperwork found in the jeep, the clutch is fairly new. There are a few minor dings, one can be popped out and the other (on the bed) has a few creases and shows a little bit of rust but nothing to major and the interior is really clean. I'm not rich so this isn't going to be a super fast or expensive build but over time my ideas will be accomplished. Current issues: Speedometer bounces - stops bouncing once you hit 55 mph. Its 4 wheel drive but somebody put in a 2 wheel drive from axle - really no big deal, already have a donor. 2 dents - one in the cab looks like it can be popped bit the on around the passenger tail light can not. Clear coat on hood is coming off. Plans: Fix current issues 3 inch lift Convert back to 4 wheel drive. Install bucket seats Install light bar / roll cage in bed Paint Questions: Will a 93 Cherokee work as a donor (front axle, drive shaft and speedometer cable)? Thanks for looking, I'll do my best to remember to take pictures of the progression. I'll post the current pictures i have when i get on my laptop as I am currently on my phone.
