  1. Anyone know if they may have placed the OBD1 in some of the later made model year 1990 MJ's? Anyone have pictures showcasing the difference between the two reader ports? OBD1 and the one that requires a $3000 reader from Snap-on?
  2. Thanks for all the help- I do not know how much I gained, but I feel like I could get another inch or two with a longer shock. Thanks- RL
  3. I did an an Add A Leaf in summer on my 90 MJ pioneer, but forgot to get longer shocks. I think that the my height is now minimized because I put the stock size back on. Anyone know of a slightly longer / larger shock package that I could pick up? Like on a ford truck or Grand Cherokee? TIA- PRL
  4. Thanks Pete! Awesome job! Pics to follow!
  5. I do not have the tag on my rear axle anymore...guess i will have to count teeth (43-14 for a 3.07 I think)
  6. Now that you think I am probably retarded... I just know nothing about axles other than what I read. 1. I am probably just going back to the D35 for ease of transfer back in. If I go from a 3.07 to a 3.55 will I have to do to do anything to the front D30 (which i do not know what it is geared at)? 2. Anyone know where I can get the u-bolts that go around the MJ axle. Mine are super tough to get off and I may have to cut them. TIA
  7. Does the ford 8.8 bolt right up or do I have to make some conversions? What gear ratio do I want with that?? 3.73??
  8. I found about ten D35's with a 3.55 ratio in Mansfield, OH in a bone yard for $100. They vary in age from say 1985 to 2000 and all out of XJ's. Most with the 9 inch brake, but some are 10 inches. Most w/o ABS, some with. Are any years better than others? 9 vs 10 inch brakes, does it really matter? Can I but an ABS axle on a non-abs car??? TIA- PRL MugBog in Wayne, OH- Saturday 5/27/06. No one made it through last time!!!
  9. I heard there is a lot of re-mounting brackets... Is it a better axle than the D35???
  10. Can I tell my rear end ratio in my D35 without counting the gear teeth? I think my ratio is 3.07, but I am not sure. Can I change ratios in the ring and pinion gears and not change anything else??? My pinion gear is shredded and so is the bearing on the drivers side of the ring gear. Can it be determined which caused which to shred?? I think I lost teeth of the pinion gear which got lodged under the ring gear causing that not to turn and shreded the bearing next to it. What could have caused this??? Mileage- 131K??? Oil looked OK maybe a little think...??? Drive shaft (should still be near stock angle)??? 90 Pioneer, 4x4, I6 4.0L, manual. TIA- RL
  11. I had backup light issues too- Mine was bad wiring. Remember our trucks are 15-20 years old!!! I do not know if the trailer wiring was stock or not on my jeep, but it was causing my tail lights to work whenever they wanted.
  12. Anyone know if these will swap from a Cherokee to my MJ??? If not have a suggestion on finding stainless steel bendable lines? Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit For Jeep Cherokee XJ [JEEP06FR] $62.95 Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit For Jeep Cherokee XJ Products Model: JEEP06FR Manufacturer: Crown Performance Fits Vehicle: 1990-01 Cherokee Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit For 1990-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4WD Includes 2 front lines and one rear. 13. 1990 Comanche Pioneer 4X4, shortbed, np231 transfer w 5 speed manual, 4.0L engine w/ 130,000 miles, Dana 30 front, 35 rear. Pretty much stock. Notice the "flair side" bed- added this option straight from the factory. I also got the rust package thrown in for free.
  14. Paid $275 for my 90 Pioneer 4x4 short bed, manual tranny, 4.0L. It had its issues- cracked windshield, missing rear window, CPS went out about 3 months after owning it, missing parking lights, etc. Little TLC and I won't trade her for the world!!! I have probably dropped $1000 in it. I am redoing the bed this summer and adding a lift (AAL) while the bed is off.
