  1. Looks great, How is the body? normal soft spots or is it a rare solid Canuck Truck!! Keep us updated on the progress and feel free to contact me if you have any more questions on the 2 to 4 swap. W :Canadaflag:
  2. ok could someone tell me what colour the wires are coming out of a 231 on a 91 mj? or if there is one plug or two plugs or what.... thanks W :Canadaflag:
  3. Anyone?.... i guess it is not a bolt in/plug in procedure. W :Canadaflag:
  4. both transmissions are electronic speedo's its just a matter of me splicing in the plug from the 94 harness to the 91 harness. i just don't know what all the wires do!! if i cross reference a 91 FSM with a 94 FSM ill have it all figured out... only i don't have them! W :Canadaflag:
  5. I have a minor issue with my wiring, i did my trans/case swap today and ran into a little problem. my 91 2wd mj speedo wiring is different from my 94 xj aw4/231 combo here is the colour scheme for the wiring: plug on 91 2wd aw4: 2 wire> white/orange stripe black/blue stripe plug on 91 body harness: 4 wire> white/orange stripe black/blue stripe black/red stripe black/grey stripe plug on 94 aw4/231: 5 wire> orange black white/orange stripe black/blue stripe black/red stripe also on my 91 body harness a couple of inches from the 4 wire plug the is a 2 wire plug> red/black stripe black does anyone have a diagram or the knowledge to help me sort this out. thanks W :Canadaflag:
  6. i have the skyjacker nitros.... supposed to be the right ones. i think it has something to do with the skyjacker kit for MJ's is a spring over arrangement, where mine is still spring under and therefore the shock mount is even lower. i figure i'll just fab up some brackets and weld them on. ill have more ground clearance and more travel too! W :Canadaflag:
  7. I just put on my new shocks the other day and they are pretty much maxed out. i checked the part number and they appear to be the correct shock. so i figured i would just raise the lower shock mount up as they do on the XJ's. only thing i am concerned about is the shock eye is turned 90 degrees from the stock configuration. i was looking at using (or making) mounts like the JKS Rear Axle Shock Mount. any ideas if this will work ok? like this http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... hock+Mount thanks W :Canadaflag:
  8. Had a little incedent on my drive home from work on the MJ's maiden voyage as my daily driver. went something like this.... driving along in the fast lane on the highway when i come into some traffic and i go to hit the brakes only I'm not stopping too quickly so i press a little harder and start to swerve into the shoulder and the @$$ end locks up and the pedal hits the floor. i skidded about 300 feet and my rear bumper hits the concrete barrier between the lanes finally coming to a stop. could have written off a couple of cars and the entire side of my manche. came out of it with a scuffed rear bumer end cap and an exploded front flex line. (oh ya and a pile in my shorts!) limped over to a local parts store and capped the hard brake line with brass fittngs (no new lines in stock) blead the line and topped up the fluid and crawled home on 3 brakes. so i ordered a set of stainless lines all around should be back in business tomorrow nite! what a day! W :Canadaflag:
  9. thanks again everyone..... for all the help too! W :Canadaflag:
  10. wouldnt fit if i wanted them to!!! W :Canadaflag:
  11. Thanks..... looked for like 2 years and finally settled on a 91 2wd 4.0 aw4. 4" superlift coils skyjacker LCA's skyjacker nitro shocks skyjacker steering damper Rubicon express adjustable track bar sway bar disco's rear springs re-arched w/ AAL (a little stiff) Moab wheels/245-75-16 MTR's donor parts from 94 XJ: HP D30 AW4 NP231 bucket seats steering column console gauge cluster trying to find time to do the trans/case swap and have the rear shaft fabbed up. work and life getting in the way again! thanks for looking! W :Canadaflag:
  12. Well i figured i'd post some pics so you can see what i have been asking all the questions about!! thanks for all the help, still not done, still have to do the trans/case swap to make it 4wd for real! W :Canadaflag: Before: After:
  13. test
  14. sounds good, ill see what i can find at the dealer. thanks W :Canadaflag:
  15. What is everyone using? ive got my lift (4") in and i am almost maxed out with my stock flex line. Thanks W :Canadaflag:
  16. nevermind .... i got it all in. trans/case is next! w :Canadaflag:
  17. SWEET! Anyone know where the gear selector cable exits the cab?> i am changing mine from a coloumn shift floor shift. there is a hole ahead and to the right of the shifter but it is big and the cable doesnt line up well. does it exit the same spot as the column shift? thanks W :Canadaflag:
  18. Just got the MJ back from the spring shop, so it is now jacked up and aligned. this weekend i am hoping to tackle the trans/case. Just wondering if it is going to be a bolt-in/plug-in affair or will i run into copatability issues like i did with my front calipers. for those that don't know.... this is my junk. donor vehicle: 1994 XJ 4.0 AW4 4wd My MJ:1991 4.0 AW4 2wd so, will everything jive or will there be surprises? thanks everyone W :Canadaflag:
  19. just got my mj back from an alignment and it is dead on drives and steers like a dream! W :Canadaflag:
  20. tell us how you really feel! W :Canadaflag:
  21. just did the caliper swap, fluid film and some heat along with a little patience and they came right off. thanks for everybody for your input. now its heading to the spring shop for some lift in the rear and a badly needed alignment! thanks again W :Canadaflag:
  22. its not the lines, its the caliper, i have replacements from the donor xj... i just know the hard lines are seized into the flex lines. don't want to twist the hell out of the hard lines when trying to take them off!! W :Canadaflag:
  23. My mj is a 91 and the donor was a 94 xj
  24. the rotor actually rubs the inside of the caliper... pads, flex lines, caliper castings, piston, well everything except the bolt spacing. not a big deal to change but it might be a major PITA! Will heat hurt the lines or fittings? it may be the only way to get them out. seemed to be pretty seized. thanks W :Canadaflag:
