  1. looks good. I know hind sight is 20/20 but you could have taken the bumpers, fender flares ,door handles and mirrors off before you had it painted. Live and learn, that color with the black trip looks awesome.
  2. that is the simplest cleanest homemade cup holders I've seen. what did your wife use for the actual cup holders they look like the ones from my couch. Also just get a piece of material and glue it to the top so it looks more factory kinda like a speaker box.
  3. I meant good enough as in safe and better than what it was. the ground was larger than the wires to the lights and the wires to the lights had one with a white stripe and one with solid black on both lights. I just connected the White Stripes to the white stripes and the black to the black like they were before. I still need to get a fuel pump and reinstall my fuel sending unit before I know if it did any good.tomorrow I will hook up a battery and see if my tail lights work.
  4. Lol i can understand the confusion, thanks for the responses. The tank is still under the truck. I just shoved a large rag in it and called it good. The next step is to take the fuel tank off and get into the garage so I can clean it out. I am thinking about using the por 15 fuel tank sealer. What do y'all think?
  5. I have been tracking down my no start issue. I have no fuel, and my fuel pump does not seem to be working. 2 days ago I pulled out my fuel sending unit and pump. The sending unit looks great but the fuel hose is corroded (sorry i forgot to take a pic of it) Ill be dropping the tank to clean it and thinking about por-15 fuel tank coating it while it is out. I pulled off my tail lights to check the ground and this is what I found. Drivers side tail lights, and passenger This is my fix, think it is enough? And
  6. I just pulled my sending unit/fuel pump out to replace the pump. The fuel hose in the sending unit is deteriated and crumbled when i pulled it out. Anyway i want to drop the tank and make sure it is clean but it started raining here really hard so here are my questions. 1. Will humidity get in the tank and rust it? 2. Whats my best option for sealing up the hole? I was just going to put some duct tape or painters tape over the hole.
  7. well where is the video? How she coming along?
  8. Love it! I have an 87 4 banger 2 wheel drive sitting in the driveway for over a year. She'll turn over but won't start. I'm sure its the fuel pump but I haven't had the time to pull it out and replace it. What pump did you use?
  9. Glad you got it running again. I am in the same boat you were. Can you shed some insight about your jigsaw puzzle with adapters? I am hopefully going to advance tomorrow to pick up some new fuel line, filter Bosch pump and a few other things if I can get my butt out of bed.
  10. Where should these two be connected and what are they too? 1987 I4.
  11. I just drove through Fal. Visited family this weekend in the Valley. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.
  12. I have a 1987 Comanche that I'm having a hard time getting running. It has had some stuff done to it prior to my owning it such as it was converted to an open cooling systems during one of its "refurbishing". There are a couple of wires not connected and I'd like to see a stock or mostly stock set up for a side by side comparison. It will crank but won't start. Anyone interested let me know.
  13. So if it is in really good shape and only 58k miles is the 92 for 2500 a good price?
  14. Well they don't have a lot of stuff. Mostly stuffed animals and a couple beds and clothes do y'all think its a bad idea? I can't see them having more than 1500 pounds of stuff
  15. Well that was my way of thinking aswell. I'll be using it to drive my wife and daughters junk from TX to VA so the lower mileage and new parts gives me more of a warm and fuzzy. Its cheaper to buy the Comanche and rent a uhaul trailer that to rent the uhaul van.
  16. Both trucks are in amazing condition and the asking price for the 89 was 4500 now 3800 so getting them down to 2750 would probably just insult the guy. The 92's asking price is started at 3200 and is at 3000 right now.
  17. Given the opportunity to choose between a 1989 chief red with 4.0, 4x4, AX-15 full console and black interior bucket seats, roll bar and fog lights 6 ft bed. $3500.00 Or 1992 eliminator black, 4.0, auto, 2x4, bucket seats, full center console, 58k miles, new battery, tires, thermostat, and tune up, 6 ft bed. $2500.00 Both trucks are in fabulous condition no major dents or ding. I really want another 5sp/4x4 but the low mileage eliminator is very tempting. Can I consievebly do the 4x4 swap for under 1k? It will be my Dailey driver to get a little better mileage than my orange 06 LWB Rubicon on 33's (45000 miles). I wish the 92 was a 4x4, 5spd manual Eliminator. I'd love to have two lasts of an era in my driveway.
  18. The big round ones? I plan on leaving the hole open when I bed line the floors. Those drain holes are a lot largernthan I want to have open all the time. I want somethin the same size as the wrangler.
  19. Has anyone added drain plugs in the floor boards like the wranglers have in them or can anyone tell me is it as easy as drilling a hole in the areas where water pools prior to bedlining the floors?
  20. Yeah, I asked him a few times. Even if it isn't a true metric ton. It has a 6ft bed, D44 rear and 2inch received hitch. I still need to go take a look at it. Hoping it is a 6 ft bed.
  21. I found a 89' 4.0, 5 speed, metric ton, 6ft bed with the floor boards already cut and rewelded for 1000. It is a daily driver, inspected and registered. Only dents were small on the drivers door (replaceable) and top of tailgate (replaceable or just throw a plastic cap on it). It is better than the 87 i have which isn't running and needs the floorboards replaced. It also has the I4 and 4 speed manual.
  22. My drive shaft fell out of my 1987 2.5L, 4 speed while I was towing the truck home. I just picked it up off the side of the road and threw it in the bed. I know I will need to refill the transmission fluid since it all spilled out on the hghway, I just don't know what I need to do in order to get it back in correctly. Also the end that goes in the transmission is starting to rust. Should I lightly sand the rust off with some sand paper?
