  1. Yes it is a Champion RC12LYC. I thought a white plug meant the motor was running lean?
  2. My jeep has been running lean and is difficult to get up to 60+ mph. I found a broken wire on the o2 sensor harness but it did not solve the problem. Throttle body has been cleaned and tps has been adjusted. Any ideas?
  3. I am working on the a/c on my 89 cherokee 4.0. The previous owner converted it over to 134a. I hooked up the gauges with the engine off and the pressures are 80 psi on the low side and 75 psi on the high side. I started it up and turned the ac on max cool with fan on high. The compressor clutch engages but the pressures don't change much. The low side increases by 2 or 3 psi and the high side stays the same. I am not getting any cool air. Any idea on whats going on? Is the compressor bad? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Nice idea
  5. I am! :waving:
  6. I have an 89 cherokee with the 4.0 and an automatic transmission. I recently purchased it an noticed two wires were disconnected under the hood, behind the intake. I traced them back to the transfer case. It is a new process 231j. Any ideas on where these wires go? (Sorry for the recent cherokee questions)
  7. I recently purchased an 89 cherokee with the 4.0. I drove it around town for a few days with no problem. On the third day I stopped at the gas station and when I got back in after filling up it would not start. It sounded like it was the battery so I called my brother to give me a jump start. When we jumped it, it started fine and I drove it home. Next day I got a new battery and put it in. This seemed to have solved the problem until about a week later until it did the exact same thing. So yesterday I replaced the alternator and let it run for about 30 minutes. Turned it off and it started up with no problem. I did this several times. This morning I went out and attempted to start it and it wouldn't even crank. I jumped it and got it to crank and not start. I have not checked for spark and fuel yet but will do so soon. Any advice on either of these problems would be great. It also appears that the previous owner was having similar trouble because the starter solenoid relay has been replaced.
  8. On 91 it is next to the ecm under the hood driver side fender So would an 88 or 89 even have it?
  9. Where is this connector located?
  10. Working on a 89 xj with 4.0 and I have a fuel leak where the fuel pressure regulator connects to the fuel rail. Anybody know if that oring is the same as an injector oring?
  11. thanks for all the help guys!
  12. Have an 89 xj 4.0 6 cylinder and the fuel injectors are leaking. O rings are fine. I've heard the 746 volvos are good but what years work? Are there any other jeep injectors that are a good swap?

  14. Why wouldn't it mount up to a 88 block?
  15. Anyway to check this?
  16. I am going to check the ignition switch. But is there any chance it could be the starter relay?
  17. So it will start every time, just most of the time it needs the key cycled 5 times? correct!
  18. When I turn the key and it doesn't start it doesn't do anything. However the radio and heat still work when I turn the key. Its an automatic transmission with the straight 6.
  19. Sorry guys for not enough info! It started up fine this morning but as I was heading down the driveway it quit on me. I tried starting it multiple times. And about the 5th time it finally cranked over and started. After sitting for a while, it starts right up! But if I drive it and turn it off, it won't crank until I turn the key about 5 times.
  20. nothing i can do to make it work
  21. Have an 1988 comanche with an intermittent no cranking issue. Was wondering if it could be the starter or ignition switch?
  22. I have a 1988 comanche 4.0 6 cyl it cranks but has no spark. I installed a new coil, distributor, and a cps. Still no luck. Any ideas on what to try next?
  23. To fix this unplug the timer, remove screws, then place timer in the trash
  24. I just did a motor swap on a 1988 comanche and cannot find out where the other plug is that the crankshaft position sensor plugs in to
