Thanks  for your comments. Sadly, my Bronc was not owned by OJ - although he did drive past me during the infamous "chase" on the freeway in Southern California as I was headed home from work one day. I'm ready to sell it into someone else's pasture so I can dump...er..."invest" more heavily in the Comanche. Wouldn't even mind having another YJ or a CJ if I could find a trade. I'll even part with the precious skull shift knob. If anybody wants it, just send me a few bucks for shipping and I'll have it on its way. Pete - we pulled the carpet first thing, as I saw that item popping up over and over again here, so thanks - the good news is that we're rust-free. We'll start a proper build-up topic to post pics of the few things in place so far, and more as we go.
  2. Thanks, Eagle. Do you know if there's a DIY topic for this? If not, maybe I'll take a shot a documenting mine.
  3. Ready to change my column to tilt - tired of doing the limbo every time I get into the truck. Would like to know what XJ years I should look for at the JY, and if there are headaches with this swap that I can avoid. Looked for a previous post or thread and found lots of changes to tilt, but no junkyard shopping tips. Thanks.
  4. Great job on the shirts, Brent! Got mine today. (Nice to be just down the road from you in Florida). Thanks for all your good work on these.
  5. I appreciate the tip, thanks. Finally got these and others to post in The Pub.

Here it is - our "new" 88 Comanche - on Day 1 after a good scrub-down. It's a 4.0I, BA10, 5 sp, short bed, 2WD (but not for long). We'll post a build-up thread with future plans, but here's where we're starting. Some previous close encounter trashed the front bumper, but everything underneath looks good. Truth is I really bought it just for the skull shift knob...Interior looks clean but it STINKS of animal (cat?) smell. Carpet is already gone and seat has been replaced. Oh, those idiot lights are destined for the idiot junkpile. Couldn't resist this shot of the Manche w/Big Brother Bronco

  8. Getting ready for my own swap and found this link very helpful. At the top of the post, it shows sourcing info for the new senders. Good luck. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=921205
  9. Vinyl decals are much more compliant under heat. If you don't have a heat gun, a hair dryer at its hottest setting will often suffice. - Mark '88, 4.0, 5sp, 2WD
  10. One of today's projects is a fluid change for the tranny on our 88 4.0 5sp. Simple as this may be, we're new to the MJ, and I couldn't find a thread for this procedure. Does anybody know of one I've missed, or any advice on the procedure is appreciated. Thanks.
  11. I'm just a newbie to the forum, but wanted to extend my best wishes for a full recovery and success with the lifestyle changes you'll need to keep on keeping on.
