  1. thanks for all the info. going to replace it next weekend buying the slave from chrysler dealer ship. as for auto zone that is where i got the clutch kit i have been back there two many times not good. my buddy who is a machanic told me to quit buying cheap parts better off geting the good stuff. he said to go to dodge or napa he always had good luck with them some times you have to spend some money to save you time and greaf
  2. i have a ba10 transmission just put a clutch kit in it then a new master cylinder then the new slave went out replaced it for the second time now the new master cylinder went out replaced it drove it for 3 days then i lost my clutch again :headpop: not losing fluid it is bypassing the system somewhere don't know if it is the slave or the master cylinder  it will not bleed. what i want to know is i want to put a aw4 automatic in it is that a easy swap and what other stuff would i need to get to make it work i'm tired of that piece of @*#$@#^#&$^$@@#@!#$&%*^%#$# ba10 it will now become a boat anchor. and how do i find out what the spline count is on my transfercase. there is no tag on mine any where.
  3. thanks pete i am looking into a aw4 the guy only wants $75 for it he has the computer brain to go with it it is out of a 87 cherokee
  4. what does it take to go external
  5. if you do not think you could do the job, then take it in and have it done. I just did my clutch in my truck 89 comanche ba10 and every thing went well for me as in removal and install, but when i went to bleed the slave i could not get it to bleed. :headpop: And then i started losing fluid from the slave. Defective slave what are the odds? Put a new one in and bled the system and got my clutch back. Now i just lost my clutch master cylinder i put it on at the same time as the clutch getting air bubbles and foam. Today changing the master cylinder i hope that's all i have to do. Had to pull my tranny twice. what a pain. The owner before me rounded off all the bolts. If you do replace it yourself, be careful with the hard lines that come from the slave. They don't make them any more the guy i talked to is a dodge mechanic. Hope things go good for you.
  6. you are doing an awsome job on that truck just got an mj myself good picks for me to use as a reference you can really weld my freind is going to do all my welding. c-ya on the trail.
  7. thanks for the info i do not intend on going over 35's on my truck. when wheeling i get in to some places that are a little tricky but not to bad my buddy said i should up grade to better axles but he always does extreme wheeling. i am trying to keep this build low buck but not cheap just want to have a good wheeling truck with out breaking the bank is that possible. if i listen to my buddy i will have tons of money in my rig and can't drive it on the steet.
  8. i am thinking about putting a 8.8 in my mj to replace the dana 35. what i need to know is how strong is the dana 30. and if i need to replace it what would be a good swap. :chillin:
  9. yes i did bleed the slave cylinder did not replace the line from slave to the master cylinder. i will give that a try. i do have the ba10 but the auto parts store sold me a clutch kit for a ba10 incase changing the line does not work any other suggestions. i appreciate all the help.
