  1. Well then. LIFT it is. I can't stand scooting along at near ground level. Lockers can be the next mod. But for now sitting level with a PT cruiser just aint gettin' it!!
  2. I was replacing the brakes/rotors and I stripped the caliper pin when trying to disassemble the caliper to remove the pads. I am positive they have been on the truck since it rolled of the line and Rather than mess around with drilling the pin out I called the parts store and they have the calipers I needed so I picked them up (and new caliper pins) and there is only one piece in each box. I am currently at work and going off memory, but are there not 2 pieces to the caliper or am I remembering wrong? Or is the other side called something else and I need to order it seperate? Thanks, -Will
  3. I was talkign to a buddy of mine about putting a 3" lift on the MJ and some 31's underneath it. He said that I was crazy to do that before I got lockers put on. Is there any truth in that, or is he just used to that type of thinking? This is a DD with occasional trail riding. Nothing serious like rock crawling or anything like that. Thanks, -Will

    Newbie

2 new Comanche sightings in 2 days here in Knoxville over the weekend and both appear to be just sitting. 1 was in a field next to a house with several other old trucks and the other was the last vehicle in the persons driveway and the hood was covered with odds and ends. I turned around and drove back by it to verify it was a Manche. This really excited my lovely wife. She asked me why I needed a second one when I didnt even have 1 running 100%. When I explained that I could salvage parts from one to the other and get mine running 100% then sell the parts I didnt need to my Comanche Companions her only reply was "Oh, so you are in the scrap business now?" I could only say "If the price is right babe, what else could I do?" To this I got the eyes rolled and a sigh. :D But needless to say, I beleive the Manche Radar is getting to be more in synch. 8)

Same here. Since December when I picked up my MJ, I have seen ONE other Manche rollin' through K-Town. I must say both were relatively rust free. My front and rear bumpers are covered but the body is solid.

    The Wife

How many others out here have a wife that has and wants NOTHING to do with their manche? With my schedule it is hard for me to get to the City Clerks office to get the title switched to my name and the new tags for the truck. I signed all I needed to, as far as the title was concerned, but when it came to the registration the woman at the clerks office told my wife that in order for her to sign the registration then she would haev to sign the title and become part owner of the truck. This wouldn't have bothered me if she had signed it so I can get up to date tags, but my wife refused to do so saying that she wanted nothing to do with 'that truck' I am holding out that once I get the truck lifted and take her out for a day of playing in some mud, that she will come around. If she doesnt want to do it any more after that, then she can just sit her happy @$$ at home while me and our boys go play without her. :-D But I was just curious as to how many others out there deal with this same situation? -Will
  9. Damn Pete, is there anything on that truck that hasn't been touched in one way or another?!!! :-D

  11. I swapped the MC out on the clutch and it is working great! Thanks for the help!! -Will
  12. Good to know. Thanks guys. -Will
  13. It was low when I picked it up. Added some fluid and brought it home. (about an hour drive on the interstate.) Drove it a couple times after that and then I came to a stop light and when I pushed in the pedal to get into first, I lost the pressure. A few minutes, and several curse words, later I managed to get into first and creep back to the house in first gear. Thank God I was less than a mile from the house.
  14. When I press the pedal it does not disengage the gear. There is no pressue at all when pressing the pedal down. Could this be a linkage problem or is it going to be the cylinder. I guess I should mention that the resevoir for the clutch is full and I do not see anything leaking. Thanks in advance -Will

    Puke Goat??

Thanks guys. I believe that everything about the vehicle is still stock. My wife's grandfather bought it in 95 with 120k miles on it. He gave it to me for Christmas (2005) and it only had 140K miles on it. He did nothing to it except for routine maintenance.

    Puke Goat??

Ok, I am new to the jeep world and off roading in general, as this is my first off-road vehicle. I have seen several people describe their engine as a Puke Goat. I am just curious as to what exactly that means. -Will

    New to CC

I do not have any pics yet. I was happy to find out that when I picked it up last weekend from my wife's grandfather, that he was wrong about the engine, that it is a 4.0 6cyl!!! not the 4 banger that he said it was, so that made made me happy. I got it to my house just in time for the clutch to go out. So I will be workign on that in the next week or two.

    New to CC

Hello to all of you. I have been here for a few days now and I just wanted to comment on all the pics and suggestions that I have been checking out. There are some beautiful rides on here. It has me wanting to get everything done to my truck faster than I know is possible. But I know with time and patience it will come. 8) I hope all of you have a safe and wonderful New Year and I look forward to talking with all of you. Anyone here close to Knoxville, TN?
  21. Well. I didnt get anything for my MJ. All I got was an MJ. My wife's grandfather gave me his 88, that he rarely drove. Needless to say that made my Christmas. :D It is still stock (at the moment) I am already looking for mods to start this project and get it rolling. I will be sure to post pics as I go. It is nice to be here and I look forward to talking with all of you in the future.
