ok last week i ran it out of gas. put some in it started right up drove it about 40 mi. next day it won't start. took the fuel filter off it was full of junk cleaned it out. dropped the tank took the fuel pump out hooked some jumper wires to it and it worked. turned it over a few times to check my plugs they are not wet at all. i don't smell any fuel getting up to the engin. any chance i blew a relay some where? right now i don't know what to check.

problems with belts - 4.0
dirtlord420 replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the first thing i replaced was the idler pulley. i don't think it lasted long. the bearing is good, but the outside of the pulley looks wore out. i also removed the p.s. pump only to break the bottom mounting bolt. the one in the intake. so i j.b. welded it and bolted it back. am wondering if the threw it out of inline. couldnt have been too much tho. also when i put belt dressing on it. it goes quite for only a sec. this all started happing tho before i started replacing parts. all togather i replace the idler pulley and the water pump. so what i think am going to do nos is get a better belt and a new idler pully, or maybe use the old one. there is nothing wrong with the old one. -
alight i got one of those cheap belts for advance. thats my first problem. it lasted a few months took it back got another one. this time the belt didnt last more then a 100 mi. i don't see anything wrong with my pullies. the belt that is on there now looks really wore out on the flat side. so am thinking of buying a better belt, but is there anything i should check for before buying? am really starting to think the problem is the cheap belt. i've had alot of people look at it, and couldnt see anything wrong. what do you think? thanks

thanks. i trired auto zone guy looked at me real funny. then i was like am better off getting factory. it seems like everything i get from auto zone leaks. plus i don't like dealing with the idiots.
-
will autozone carry these o-rings? am pretty sure the mount has been replaced before. unless the stock mount has painted fluorescent orange. i just don't see the engineer using a bolt that long. anyone know what size the bit is on the filter neck? thanks
-
this is for my 4.0 on the passenger side. so @$$ clown put a longer bolt in there. i don't even know how they could have put it in. i just can't get it out. does the oil filter neck come off? my other option is to cut it out. i just don't see how i can get this out. the head of the bolt is toward the oil filter and the other end stick out about 1in. what are my other options here?

how do i check the tie rod ends and your track bar mounts? the provisous owerner my uncle said its probly the tie rod ends. i just had new tires put on the front and balanced wouldnt that let me know if the rims are straight? would shocks cause this problem? i got to get this worked out truck is going to be on the road alot more. thanks
-
well i've had this problem for awhile. just put two new tires on. the problem got a little better. well this is going to be hard to explain so bear with me. it feels like an off balance tire at all speeds. it gets worse when you hit a small bump. i checked the wheel bearing didnt see anything wrong with them. the truck does need new struts. but feels more like a stearing problem. next stearing problem. there is alot of play at higher speeds when you turn to the right. but corrects its self when turning to the left. any input would be great thanks

i had to start my own junk yard. toyota supra parts are just to hard to find. i always find myself going back there to get somthing i need. i just go out there and pick it up with the forklift. for me its just easier to buy the whole car and take it home and strip it. i havnt been to the junk yard in around four years.
