  1. i have the same problem as girsmj86 but it only happens when i turn right or have been driving for over a hour.. fuel pump is what it sounds like??
  2. quart o oil a week, damn your lucky... mines used 10 quarts since last wednesday, no joke.
  3. I'm curious on this subject too and i was searchin it the other day... on mine its 30 1/2" from the ground to front fender flare and 33" in the back... which made me wonder if i can throw on a shackle lift in the rear and 3" coils on the front and run 31's? anyone know? sorry for the hi-jack..
  4. i think I'm just a dumbass? i hope the 2 things i thought were drain and fill plugs are the actual things... to me they look like they are but :?: the ones on the back below the driveshaft and the fill is on the passenger side above the crossmember?
  5. kick me in the balls and call me sally... just when i thought i was done after spending 2 days to track down mt-90, i assumed the damn bolts would be the same as an ax-15 and the diff covers with a 3/8" ratchet... but noooooooooo forkin jeep decides to kick my nuts once again. anyone know what size it is or how i can get the drain and fill plugs off? i searched here and naxja but no dice. thanks again.
  6. fack.. thats what was supposed to go there... any clue what size the bolts that hold that in are too? i lost em :D
  7. i don't think i took it off?? figured thats what my problem was tho... where the hell is it? thanks again fellas.
  8. now the bastard won't start. I GIVE UP!!
  9. welp... i didnt smack my knees against the framerails but i smacked my head on every exhaust piece known to man, i had the truck jacked up high enough to work under it (stock height vehicles blow to work on) when pulling it off, the trans fell on my chest, off the jack i had under it, ouch. then putting it back in, it wouldnt stay on the jack again so i muscled it up there with my hands and knees, i feel very old this week for being 22  as for the bolts, my dad works at a machine shop so ill tell him what sizes i need, i already replaced the torx one for the 3/8-16. i lost one of the starter bolts and the 2 upper bolts on the driversside of the bellhousing  thanks mjeff.
  10. so a week later, some blood loss, oil for a new hair dye, a bruised rib cage and 2 banged up knees... its finally back in and ready to go for a ride tonight :D how many bellhousing bolts do you really need? i can't find 3 of them  thanks for the advice guys..
  11. yes, i searched naxja, 138 results, 10 pages.. all the bolts that hold the bellhousing are tight as fawk, sprayed them with PB and no I'm not a weak fawk :D driveshaft is off, i was just gonna unbolt the center crossmember and drop it all as one instead of un-doing everything... seemed easier until the bastard decided to not let me take bolts off  can i unbolt the trans from the bellhousing underneath or do i have to take it off at the engine to get to it? '88 4.0 ba10. ive swapped them out before on my ax-15 on my yj so i figure its as straight forward as that, correct? any advice would prolly brighten my day as I'm ready to put a rag in the gas tank and light it

    stereo?

kenwood excelon cd player (from my last winter beater) mtx blue thunder 200x4 amp($20 from a friend) 5.25" vega components in the door to get the deep notes(from my yj's half doors) 6x9 3 way alipnes in the b pillar? (found dusty in my closet) so far ive put like 60 bucks into it, besides what i paid for it, i love winter beaters :D
  13. nothing blows out on vent or anything unless I'm going above 45. so i took the climate controls out... vacuum pressure is there, no loose connections on the wires there, so my next question... wheres the blower motor? down by the passenger feet? I'm gonna replace the climate controls and see where it gets me, then move onto the blower.. thanks guys.
  14. I'm sure this has been answered a million times, ive searched naxja and this site with no real positive answer... the heat on my mj don't work... well it does when I'm doin 65-70, it turned on a couple times when i hit the dash really hard then shut off when i shut the motor off.. if i stick my hand by the vent, its warm just nothins blowin out, all the fuses are good? so today at work i decided to pull the dash apart, i got the overlay off trying to get to the heat controls to pull it out and see if that infamous wire was loose but the bastage won't come out. so the real question... what do you guys think my problem is, and how do i get the climate control thing outta the dash?
  15. i got bored and ran into it with my yj cause the heat isnt working  you sound ambitous... wanna come fix mine? :D
  16. i changed my mind again i think, found some 3" lift coils and shocks for all 4 corners for $25 so i picked em up, how do i go about liftin the rear 3" AAL since they don't make a 3" pack? pingpong- i think its maxed out already then, 600lbs of quikrete in the bed, bedfull of snow... my old 80s s10 was a horse, kicked some balls pullin and deliverin stuff in the bed, kinda miss it.. pretty sure the mj is more capable tho. ill scratch the idea on the shackles, thanks for the ideas guys.
  17. i feel like a douche for never responding to this post so.. pete, i was gonna do the 33s cause i can just use the ones from my yj and go bigger on that come spring. not too worried about gearing cause its a worktruck/winterbeater so it wouldnt see too much if any offroad abuse besides being on a construction site. just want to lift it cause I'm tired of not bein able to see down the girls shirts that I'm drivin next to :D feels like I'm in a lowrider. dirtycomanche, i know the @$$ end would stick up higher, which might be a good thing for me cause i haul alot of building supplies (concrete, sand, drywall, plywood) and a trailer around occasionally for work so it would level out in my mind at least. thanks for the list of stuff id need, i think I'm gonna start collectin parts to get this done.
  18. i know alot about leafs and soa cause i have a yj... but I'm thinkin of liftin my 2wd mj cause i hate the feeling like I'm sitting on the ground!! so i was thinkin of doin soa in the rear with longer shackles, ext. brake lines, shocks and a traction bar, i already have a d35  with 4.10s setup soa for it... the real question is, I'm thinkin of putting 5.5" coils in the front on the 2wd axle, what kinda problems am i gonna run into? does it need histeer? does it need longer control arms, if so am i better off getting 3.5" springs and doin a spacer? I'm sure its gonna need a drop pitman arm, longer brake lines and shocks, kinda obvious.. I'm hopin to run the 33s on my yj and this jeep isnt gonna see any offroad abuse  so they should fit i hope i searched a lil bit on naxja and couldnt really find my answer, so any help would be appreciated.
  19. thats a sweet sunset 8)

    greetings...

hi my names josh and I'm a... oops wrong board.. hows it goin everyone? just got my first mj. been browsin 'em for about 2 years now, and my yj was about to give out so i found the cheapest one i could. i ended up with a '88 pioneer 4.0 5spd 2wd. its got 243,000 on the clock and a bit of rust but it runs like a champ. got it for $400, good deal in my mind until i found some other ones on the web. don't mind my stupidness of questions, I'm not used to this style 4.0 motor...yet :D some questions i have right now are below, it'd be great if you could help me out some. is the hose that goes to where the intake is and connects to the exhaust manifold important? the ba10 sucks balls, do they make 2wd ax15's? how hard is it to swap it? just like swapping trans' in a yj id assume? the rear main seal and possibly valve cover seal are shot, how big of a deal is it to replace them?
