  7. I will be doing the lift today at noon. Look for pictures tonight.
  8. Ok so all my parts are in for the lift. What all needs disconnected to lower the axle enough to let the spring have enough room to put the spacer in? Basically i want to do this with out a spring compressor. I know the sway bar and UCA's need unbolted. Do the LCA's? Anything else i am forgetting?
  9. Rancho has an AAL kit that fits both the XJ and the MJ. It's listed as a "full-length," but for an MJ it's really more like about a 3/4-length. The Rancho catalog lists it as yielding 2-1/2" in both the XJ and the MJ. That's impossible, of course. I called Rancho and pestered a nice young lady in the engineering depaertment until she checked with one of the older dudes. The answer was that I was right and the catalog was wrong. 2-1/2" in the XJ and 1-1/2" in the MJ. Costs about $50. I can probably dredge up the Rancho part number if you can't find a listing. Thanks for the info. My shackles will be in today and the project will hopefully start and finish sunday.
  10. lol. Thanks for the tip but i will stay with the parts i already have ordered.
  11. haha you guys and your headerS.
  12. I got the spacers from 4wheelerssupply.com They were 39.99 free shipping. I am curious to see how the shackles work out too.
  13. Since most real lifts are out of my price range i decided to do something cheap until i could afford the RE 3.5" kit. I bought 2" and 2" chevy drop shackles. The spacers are in The shackles should be in middle of next week. Keep a look out for install pictures next week. After this i need to have bumpers made.
  14. A few weeks ago somebody posted pictures of jeeps(maybe MJ"s) on a road racing course. Where did that go? Who has the pictures?
  15. I e-mailed a guy with some on ebay to get the measurement for the chevy shackles so we will see how long those are.
  16. from what year truck? any particular truck 1/2 ton? 3/4 ton?
  17. I guess my main question is will the AAL for an XJ work on an MJ?
  18. where did you get your AAL from?
  19. ya i have thought about that too. Which would be better?
  20. Today it is raining. We got 4'' on rain last night. Flooding everywhere.
  21. Ok i ordered some spring spacers. Where is a good place to get shackles?
  22. I am looking for a little bit of lift from my 88. Eventually i want to go to a 3.5" RE kit but money is tight and will be for quite some time. Could i just use XJ 2" coil spacers and chevy lift shackles to get some lift out of it? Is there another coil i could get from the junkyard that is a direct swap to gain some lift?
