  1. might you know the length of the driveshaft you used sir ?? and if you sourced it from the wrecker's yard what vehicle it came from ??? thanks, i appreciate it big time
  2. long story .. the gist is i bought the 8.8 off a guy that said it was a 3.55 ratio .. i was gonna stick it in my cherokee .. i let it sit in my shop for a couple of months due to being lazy/busy/waiting for the ujoint yoke to be delivered and then took the cover off to find it was actually 3.73 .. too much time had elapsed for me to make a big deal out of it by then so i could either regear a high pinion xj d30 or use a very common zj 3.73 d30 that guys pretty much give away anyway .. I'm cheap/budget conscious so it was a no-brainer ;) .. it's more about being a snow beater than a trail rig like i said; i live on a farm and last year i had 5 90 pound bags of corn in the back all winter and still had to haul it out of the ditch with my cherokee more times than i'd care to admit
  3. over the last year or so i've gathered up most of the parts to switch my 2wd DD comanche to 4x4 .. i have a 3.73 30 from a ZJ, an xj AW4 and 242, and a disc brake 8.8 ford rear axle .. i plan on spring overring the 8.8 and i have some 3" over xj coils and a collection of assorted front spacers to get it level and some RE lower control arms, and RE adjustable trackbar/mount .. because i'm going with the 242, it's a long wheel base truck and a DD as opposed to a trail pig, i think i should be ok keeping the slip yoke .. i also have a ZJ disc/disc master cyllinder and booster combo to swap in anybody have a similar combo ?? any pointers/tips/pit falls with any of this stuff ?? and particularly would anyone have a ballpark length for the rear driveshaft so i can scour the wreckers for something usuable ??? i have to blitz this bad boy and have all my ducks in a row before i start because i cannot afford to have this truck off the road too long thanks for any help in advance
  4. thanks fellahs i'm guessing being a rad shop they'd just clean it up and silver solder it ??? i can do that (i think) . i'll take some piccys and let ya know how it goes a~ These types of places may be your best hope. You are looking for one of the hardest things to find for these trucks any more unfotunatley.
