Got it working, although now the needle is hopping a bit at low speeds. Will check the cable tips - also need to add some grease to the end as I hear having a dry tip can cause problems (that's what she said). I'm having a similar issue but I have a BA10/5. Gears on both side look good, cable turns if I manually turn gears by hand but once I insert it into the case I get nothing. I see the ranges written on the gear assembly but don't see an arrow or marking on the tcase. Any different procedure for installing with the BA10/5? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I found a 1996 S-10 Longbed cap for a great deal. Any idea if this will fit a 1989 Long bed MJ? Having trouble finding dimensions to compare.
