Excited to see what you do with it! You're welcome to just take this thread over.

This project is for sale. I moved and don't have a place to store or work on it. Somebody bring this thing to life!
-
So I picked up a 20ft stick of 6x2x3/16 and 2x2x3/16 for the rockers. Here's some pics of where its at. All of the rust was below the cut line so I won't be having any issues there. The laser level line turned out to be an excellent idea! I'll post more later this week when I get it all put together, but then I am leaving for work for the summer so the project will get put on hold again.

Time to bring this back to life. I've been incredibly busy with classes and the Baja team that I am apart of. Thinking about ordering some steel for rails. I plan to cut the rockers out completely and replace them with rectangular tubing and reinforce them to the 'frame rails'. I've been looking for 6"x1.5" but have only been able to find 6x2. Is this even a possible size to buy? Also, not sure if I should be going .25 wall or 3/16. Recommendations?

Also started sand blasting, but was having lots of issues with the blaster. After a few hours, here's what I ended up with. I am going to take the Jeep down to a local powder coating facility to get a quote on getting the whole truck blasted. Would save me a lot of time and hassle and I don't think its going to be much more than buying the media myself anyways.

Finished reinforcing the passenger side of the unibody so thats all done. I wanted to add a bit more on that side just because it felt a little weak in that area. Better to be safe than sorry.
-
Going try and finish up reinforcing the unibody this weekend. I've got spring break next week so hopefully I can sand sand blast a bit and maybe break out the POR15.

Updated the OP with more ideas of the plans scattered in a list.

Yeah, its less pieces to drop when you actually have to used them.

Okay, for the most part, I think I've caught up to present day. I really should have started a build thread a while ago..

Oh yeah, and I picked up a 99 XJ for $900. I'm going to DD it through the winter and then tear into it as the donor.

Very nice. I was going to do that on my last Jeep but having the shackle off to one side was just too much for my OCD. I cut up an old radiator hose and came out with this..
-
Then came the reinforcing. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I have a little more work to do on the passenger side rail farther back, but for now, it'll hold up fine.
-
I cut out the middle section of the rails because they were pretty rough and I want to weld nuts on to the back side so I can pull the crossmember off easily if needed.
-
The plan here is to reinforce the unibody rails with 1/4" plate where the crossmember will bolt to so I have something solid. The unibody is in pretty good shape everywhere but where the crossmember will go.

Started to cut off the front link mounts...
-
So here's the front suspension from the XJ thats going in to the MJ. Its a hidden 3 link with a panhard that flexes pretty damn well. I never had a problem with it, so that's what I hope to run.

Grooved a spare down to the cords to look kind of like a TSL, 36x12.5 Grand Prix.

Rebuilt, drilled, tapped and plugged a PS box for future use...

And I was finally able to move into a new house with a heated garage so I can work on this thing through the winter months

I have no idea where that snowman came from. I think one of my roommates stole it when he was drunk.
-
I pulled the drivetrain and sold it, and kept the front 3-link suspension and rear axle. The rear AMC 20 still won't be used for the comanche though.

Some more pictures of the comanche when I bought it.
