Something like this would be a waste of money. All of the 4.0 i have ever had took a while to start. Thats just the way they are theres nothing wrong with it and its not hurting anything.

i need help with decisions

IF you did a 6.5 lift with 35s and 4.56 gears and lockers. You would have one bad a** jeep. Another good thing to think about would be the teralow4:1 kit. and don't forget your sye kit and id recomend the rustys offroad or rough country longarm kit. If you want the best of the best for your truck. Also if you get an old mj id recomend upgrading to a ax15 transmission. It would be a worthy investment. -

Did the rugged ridge kit come with all of the parts needed to install it? Does it seem to be pretty heavy duty? -

Thanks for the advice i am going to check that one out. I'm only running 31s now and my future plans don't seem to exceed 35s for at least the next 5 years. -
I have been looking at the crossover steering conversions on the internet and was wondering if anybody was familiar with them. I need to upgrade my front steering b/c my current components are shot. Please post any helpful comments.

Stock Manche needs a lift!
clarence replied to auto-matik's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
if you want to run 28 in tires you can do that stock... And if you have a soa you can run 33ish -
Well id be willing to plan a trip down here in arkansas. Like up in the mountains not at any park. There are plenty of places to camp and swim and fish. Its beautiful up here. The trails are moderate any size comanche or any jeep for that matter can ride them with no problem. I don't really know much about events like these but if even like a half a dozen trucks showed up we could have a blast out there in the woods and camp out by camp fire. Me and my friend dan did it all summer long until he had to go back to college. Theres tons of trails everywhere some lead you to awsome places and other lead you to know where. Theres some pretty tricky climbs to. Ive hi-centered my truck id say about 6 or 7 times in the past two weeks. And there are some places id like to go with a group stuff that i havent seen anybody try yet. But if you guy that ive been talking to in here would like to help me organize this. we could start up another poll and start planning stuff and letting people know.

You want to come to arkansas or to the badlands? Also are they always in the same place what state? Anyways if you ever do come to AR ill show you some pretty cool trails. There arent any that are just super hard. And there nothing like a park but they are alot of fun and there really arent any rules other than not to litter. My plumbing school teacher is from iowa also. not that, that really matters though lol

Stock Manche needs a lift!
clarence replied to auto-matik's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If your going to be running 28 inch wheels your definately not going to be driving off road. That just wouldnt work out to well for you lol. You could just get a rc 3 in lift for just around $250 and thats a damn good lift and itll clear those rims just fine... However why are you putting rims like those on a jeep and not something else? don't see that very often lol. anyways here's the html for that lift and that site. http://roughcountry.com/Jeep_MJ_3in.htm -
When and where are these get togethers. Id love to go to some in the spring or summer of 08 my jeeps not really ready yet. But if anybody knows anything about these please post.

well it sounds like this kit would work alright for me. I can do a little welding with my tiny arc welder but can't even amagine weldinging on spring perches not for the type of wheeling i do i would be scrued if one of them broke on me out in the woods. infact i thought about buying 2 kits just incase i ever broke one out there. you see i live in russellville arkansas. And the closest place to wheel is about 30 minutes away. in the ozark national forest. up in the mountains. Its really good trail driving. But you see i don't know many people that wheel and so I'm usually on my own out there and if something breaks i have to be able to get my truck to the mane road so i can call and get my dad to come tow me home. Right now my truck is pretty simple. Its an 1988 Jeep Comanche. The fenders are shaved. I have a 3 inch lift from rough country that I'm very pleased with. i have the stock 4.0 with the ba/10 and a np231 id say my only power increase would have to be my plug and wires and my flowmaster muffler set up with a cut off cat. I'm running 31 inch cheep o tires but they do great off road. I'm more than sure i could run 33 now that i shaved the fenders with a little bit of rubbing. But the problem I'm having right now is that i keep high centering my rig. So i want and need something more out of my truck. I have it all designed in my head just looking for helpful people with my same obbession to descuss it with. So if anybody just likes to discuss jeeps id really like to talk to yall. And thanks for the insight on the rr kit. all I'm intrested in is the rear i already got my front picked out. It could be a little while lol. All these parts cost so much. I literaly spend my whole pay check each week on my truck gas and insurance. I thought my friend was joking when he said JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket. LOL

i have a comanche that I'm currently building. I ran across that rocky roads kit the other day i could tell right off that the front set up was worth a darn. But i was wondering is the rear bolt on soa any good? with that amount of lift do you nead a sye or can you just use a t-case lowering kit. i would love to know a little more about this rear if anybody knows. I also have a dana 44 rear and was wondering if it would still work?
