  1. Coming together now with glass installed. I reused the rear window and seal I removed years ago.
  2. Well, drove her out of the shop under her own power for the first time in over 5 years. Drove it around the yard a few times seems to run and drive smooth. Ready for front and rear windows to be installed tomorrow. Getting there. https://i.imgur.com/H09D8lB.jpg
  3. She has brakes for the first time in the 5 years I've owned her. Not sure about the Rustys brake line routing . I may move it or tie it somehow.
  4. Windshield remover tool. The T handle style with wire. Sold at many auto parts stores. It's a little tricky to save a old windshield but mine was already broke when I removed it so it was easy enough. I removed the rear the same way since I was planning on painting the jeep anyhow.
  5. Scored a used ARB winch bumper for cheap. Installed new transmission shift linkage. Found a power door harness from a 4 door 96' xj. Prepping for the rest of the parts so I can paint them and move on
  6. Purchased one. Thanks for the link!
  7. Radiator is in. Ran her for the first time in almost two weeks. New pump and thermostat and hoses work good. Looking into open cooling to replace the old hoses. Any one have any upgrade for the tight thermostat housing (hoses being tight together) mocked up the front before paint.
  8. Installed a new waterpump, thermostat , hoses, and radiator. I like how the FF Dynamics Radiator fits. Cleaned up inside the frame rails and sprayed it with Bedliner. Finishing up the front clip and then on to painting the new doors, fenders along with other parts.
  9. Installed the JCR front frame / steering box brace. Got the engine cleaned up and ready for the water pump etc. finishing up the dash wiring, preparing the new doors for paint along with some other parts.
  10. Here you go. https://ffdynamics.com/products/jeep-cherokee-aluminum-radiator
  11. Well made and cools my stroker engine well. Beautiful welds on all the seams. I did have to tweak the lower elbow fitting for the tranny coolant line to clear the frame but no biggie. Good to hear. I am doing this mostly as preventative maintenance . Although once I had her running for a small while the radiator was steaming a little on the pass side and looked rotted on the bottom. Bending the lower line is not a big deal. I'm just glad I was able to find a good radiator source here on Comanche club. I agree on the welds, they are a work of art.
  12. Picked up some power doors and a clean dash from a 96' Cherokee. When I got my MJ it was spray painted, inside as well, with blue cracked dash. Missing interior, bed and fuel tank. I'm happy to find clean rust free doors and dash. It's not a 97+ but I would rather have my project driving first before I consider that. FF dynamics radiator showed up today. Waiting for hoses, thermostat and pump.
  13. How do you like it? Does it fit ok or did you need to modify anything?
  14. Not sure if it is a 2 or 3 core. I don't see it specified on there website. I bought it direct from them $200 without fans. I plan to upgrade the fans and other things later once I have the mj driving. I needed a radiator and did not trust the $100 napa one.

1987 Pioneer swb Renix 4.0L d30/d35 Current location: Western New York Status: finishing build, I have never drove it yet Rough country 4.5" lift kit. Completely stripped and repainted. Bought it spray painted with no bed or fuel tank or interior. Just some pioneer badges. Owner: Myself
  16. Lift completed. I am happy with it so far for what it costs. FF Dynamics Radiator ordered. Power doors and dash from a 96' xj 4-door on they're way. Jcr offroad front frame bracing and steering box brace showed up. Future work, complete brakes and lines since they're are none right now. Rebuild and install driveshafts. Radiator/hoses and thermostat. Then on to dash and interior.
  17. 4.5" rough country lift with add a leaf installation .
  18. freshened up the grounds, new valve cover gasket and valve cover modifications . C101 cleaning for now. Cleaned electrical connections. Removed radiator as preventative maintenance while the front is removed .
  19. Picked up the wrenchs and back to working on my Comanche after it's been on the back burner again for too long. Recently I have done most of Cruiser54's renix upgrades which really seem to help. It runs great. Rough country 4.5" lift going on this weekend along with new brakes and extended brake lines . Pictures to follow, hoping to have this on the road by the end of summer.
  20. This is how it looked when I bought it.
  21. Here are some links to pictures from where it all started.
  22. Currently how it looks, I will need to lift it before I can mount the fenders.
