Nerf bar installation question.

So I pick up a set of MJ Nerf bars

 

 

 

Not sure which MJ will get them however I was wondering,

 

1. Why do they call them Nerf bars?

 

2. The serious question, Does anyone have the measurements or pictures (both would be best) to where they attach to the frame?

Well I don't know why they called them nerf bars.

 

But it's up to you how you want them mounted I seen some further back from where mine are mounted but with your built in step should be right next to door.
