square
What kind of pinion angle do you get?? I got a set of axles from a friend for doing bodywork to his rig and wanted to know if anyone on CC had done this… Thanks
Bounty Hunter
The spring perches on the XJ axle won't line up with the MJ springs, so you'll need to cut them off and reweld them. You can then set your pinion angle parallel with the TC output or about 1º down from parallel.
87manche
I'm doing this right now, get out the grinder.
square
CRAP Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was a direct bolt-on as the MJ is at the cottage and the is no power out there SO no welding can be done. I'll have to do all the work in town and hope it's all good when I take the axle out to the bush...
Bounty Hunter
Not to mention the XJ is SOA, and the MJ is SUA, so even if the pads lined up they would require relocating to the opposite side of the axle unless your MJ has been converted to SOA. I think he was hoping it would be a weld-free way to do a SOA conversion. Unfortunately ... it isn't.
