When I rebuild/duplicate my mercejeep, I definately want to go 4x4 while it's in the building stages. Luckily, the mercedes tranny is fairly short from bell housing to output. pingpong Posted May 11, 2006 Share Posted May 11, 2006 Ford has the divorced 205. stout transfer case. gear to gear with cast iron case. many upgrades are available for this, weka points are the output shafts. I also think lower gears are available, but thge popular thing to do is run dual cases using a 203 as a range box. Then there are the rockwell t-case. way heavy, and I don't know much about them.
