maddzz1
Are the oil galleys the same holes the rods go in? I have never had a valve cover off before and am putting a new gasket on tomorrow and will be doing any cleaning that is necessary.

BLHTAZ
Oil typically flows through the push rods, but there are multiple oil passages in an engine. I am far from an internal engine expert and I am also unsure of why you are asking the question. A little more detail of the reason for the concern may help someone more knowlegable answer. In another thread i read it said to make sure to block/cover the oil galleys before cleaning to prevent any gunk from falling down them and that if the head is really dirty to flush the galleys with oil. BLHTAZ
OK... I just typically use a long handled razor scraper to just carefully clean any old silicone off. Never had a problem yet  .
