Jack p Posted yesterday at 02:09 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:09 AM Jeep won’t shift when it’s cold. Jeep will shift perfect after the first shift of the day for the rest of the day. Until it cools back down and won’t shift in the morning. Repeat. Sometimes (rarely) it will slip out of gear if it just started shifting automatically. That is when I unsafely reach over and pull the fuse from the TCU and shift manually. It shifts perfectly manually from 1st,3rd OD when it’s cold as well never slips or anything. Shifts perfectly manually. Sometimes I’ll jump in the jeep in the morning when it’s cold and to my surprise it will shift perfectly automatically no warm up cold fluid. Then randomly slip back into first and I have to pull the fuse. When it was warm I drove the jeep from Detroit to Columbus and it shifted perfectly automatically the entire way. Parked the car at my parents house. Got in it in the morning and didn’t shift. Had to pull the fuse. Idek I have: bought another TCU, replaced all 3 solenoids, checked for voltage at fuse, drain and fill trans fluid with dex merc, switched to the Big 7 cables, cleaned grounds throughly, changed trans filter, sprayed contact cleaner on both connectors by dipstick, sprayed both TCU adapters, cried, drain and filled again because my trans pan drain bolt was stripped and leaking, looked for my speed sensor and think I found it(attachment)\/\/. Did the whole TPS alignment per cruiser54 I am so beyond confused. The guy who owned it before me took it to a trusted shop and they rebuilt the transmission. They found the low clutch pack blown out. They installed improvement and shift kit and resealed front to back. They also fixed wiring inside transmission pan, reset tension on slide connections. The write us says it worked perfectly and they test drove it for a final 5th time and all worked well. one thing that keeps flicking my brain is when I changed the solenoids, the middle solenoid had trouble getting the bolt to fit properly it seemed. I’m sure I got it in tight but it was weird compared to the other two solenoids fit perfectly. As well as another attachment I will show below. Connected to the TCU and fuse are the blue and yellow wire. They’re directly connected by a little resistor that was snapped off. Anyone know how to either reconnect without blowing the fuse with another resistor. Thank you for reading this. Please help.

Look on page 20 for information on the resistor pack and how its wired. _mj1988electricalmanual_1.pdf
