Brandon12946 Posted June 16 Share Posted June 16 update its the ignition module on the column i have a 1986 mj as of late it stopped starting i replaced the starter it was making a click sound from the relay every time i went to start it but after i replaced the starter it still does it and won't start no crank i have power everywhere my ignition feels a little lose like the key switch can move back and forth. Spinnakerblue89 Posted June 16 Share Posted June 16 I would say that it could be the ignition switch, but I don't know what the symptoms look like in that scenario. Could be the ignition module on the steering column possibly. But most importantly-- did you check your grounds??? Double check battery ground, triple check it. Clean the connection. I had what I thought was an absolutely SOLID and clean connection on a '93 ZJ once, nope, wasn't on tight enough, even though it felt plenty tight. zomeizter Posted June 20 Share Posted June 20 Bypass your starter relay by bridging the two bigger terminals together, if it cranks, the relay is defective.
