CooterScooter
I have a 86 2 5l with an ax5 transmission with the extrrnal slave. I dropped the tranny to replace clutch, rear main seal, and bearings. My question has to do with the clutch fork release. When i pulled it out it seems bent at a higher degree on the left side then on the right. See pictures. But it does not look like its a stress bend more like it was cast that way. Ive tried researching the topic and finding pictures and or replacements. But with very few results. None of the pictures i found for refrence had a side profile. Also with the research i found; if it is bent there are no replacements for the 86. My only choice would be to switch to a 94 and up xj housing and get one of the readilly available clutch forks!? I'm hoping any of you may have any suggestions or info. Thanks
eaglescout526
No that’s correct leave it alone. It’s bent that way so there’s more leverage to push on the clutch springs. Those forks are next to near impossible to find, but also the better set up for a Renix era 2.5L clutch.
