Accessory switches come apart?

So today I was messing around with putting another factory switch panel In the left side of my dash, and I popped the switch out and the faces came out, so I examined more and the switch comes apart into 3 pieces, the switch, the bezel, and the actuator.
But if you pop out the switch and flip it over and put it back and the power comfort light won’t shine out it anymore and onto your windshield.

Never really new these came apart until the first one started to

you can even pop the face out while it’s still in your panel and flip the face so the little plastic is on the bottom, also you could just cover the plastic on the inside and leave it right side up
