Tjs YJ
I have a 4 cylinder YJ wrangler with 190,000 miles. Recently I have been thinking of buying a newer wrangler. Test drove a 2009 but turns out I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. Don’t like tinted windows and don’t like the 4 door models at all. Plus, well the price of the newer ones is too high for my budget. I don’t do mechanical work at all so renovating myself is out of the question. I am in such awe of those who can. My question that I wanted to throw out to this group is do you think it’s worth keeping the YJ with the high miles and also a rusted hole in the drivers side frame? Took it to a body shop and they gave me a price of $5000 for new front fenders, paint job and frame repair. With some other little upgrades such as seat covers, new carpet, some new hardware I think I would be happy with the looks. The question is how long would the engine last? I don’t need anything fancy just feel comfortable in my old YJ.
Pete M
I would fix the frame and leave the rest alone.
