RandysMJ
Does anybody have the part numbers for the seals that are needed when putting in a 1 piece pass side front axle? Are the seals the only thing needed? Thanks
Twisty
I am assuming you are talking about a D30 (your profile says D44s). Anyways, Randy's Ring and Pinion has the conversion kit for this job. I just knocked out the seal at the disco side, and put a normal axle seal in there. Then I took some steel wool, and polished the axle shaft right where the seal would be sealing. No leaks to date...so I assume its working. RandysMJ
Yeah i mean't for a D30. A friend of mine is wanting to do this. I remember seeing someone on here that had done it. They got the seals from NAPA i think. They posted the part numbers. But i can't find the post now.
Twisty
Supposedly, there is a CJ axle seal that will work. I don't know the number but I DO know that I saw it on NAXJA. EDIT. I did a quick search, and came up with this... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... disconnect And I guess the guy who knows what exact seal to use is ChuckD. Search for his name as well. jeepthing07
I'm going to be putting a 1 piece shaft in my YJ. i was reading around about it awhile ago and they say that not all the housings are the same. and there are 3 possiable different seals depending what year the axle housing was made in. i havent messed with mine yet so i don't know, but might want to keep that in mind. MJ20
Here’s a good write up with part #’s on the seals and upgrading to larger axle joints. http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/te ... dSeals.htm
