Tor
Hello crew. New to the forum and happy to be a part of it. I have been looking for a Comanche and a good Cherokee for that matter for about 4 years or so. My fiancee and I (user NAT) have a couple of TJs in our fleet and love jeeps. Back from a road trip to Galena IL we saw her a beautiful grey long bed Comanche sitting in a lot in Marengo IL. And would you believe it had a for sale sign on her? So we bought it. Great elderly couple who were the second owners loved it but needed to downsize. Complete with that lousy 2.8 but it's ok. In fact, living in the Chicago area we get stopped often by people curious to know more about it. We have about 112000 miles on her and want to restore and save the beast. Likely we'll eventually need to drop a fuel injected 3.4 but for now she's Nat's everyday. One issue has been at highway speeds she refuses to kickdown and shudders on hills where more torque is required. I assume this is related to the kick down line needing adjustment ? Do any of you veterans have any advise for us newbies ? Thanks in advance!
zomeizter
Is the cable hooked up and does it actually pull and retract when the throttle is actuated?
silvertwinkiehobo
Yes, you'll want to verify that, as having a disconnected cable affects line pressure, and can shorten the transmission's life.
