Parts Off a Cherokee

A buddy of mine Is giving me parts off his 89 Cherokee it has a V6 4wd Mine is a 2.5 1986 Comanche 4wd I'm getting the seats and the dash but what in the engine compartment will fit ?Starter any of that stuff?

if my brain serves me corectly, none of the engine parts interchange between the 2.8 and the 2.5. all the steering and suspension will be the same

Correct. If his is really an '89, it's either a 2.5L just like yours, or a 4.0L in-line 6.

 

Doesn't matter if it's a V6 or an I-6, nothing in the engine will fit yours. However, if his has a V6 the transmission will fit yours. If he ahs a 4.0L, his tranny will NOT fit yours.

depends on the spline count. it changed a few times. It's going to be 21 or 23. You'll need to verify what you've got.
