Best (and preferrably cheapest) options for floor insulation?

I'm looking to stop the heat coming off my floor in my MJ, I want it so that theres a layer of good reliable insulation, and then some vinyl/rubber material on top instead of carpet. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Not too worried about stopping sound, just heat.

Heavily discussed topic on here. Do a search using "floor insulation", "sound insulation", "floor covering" etc..............LOTS of threads to read with lots of different products used and most definitely LOTS of different opinions LOL.
