caspermj
Sort of a basic question, but is the MJ a '2 wire' or '3 wire' set up, the difference being using a standard flat 4 wiring harness or the 5 wire with the converter box? I need to wire my '88 up for towing and any help would be greatly appreciated! Pics/description of where you spliced in would be helpful too. Thanks! Eagle
The MJ doesn't have amber turn signals, so it's all set for a direct splice connection to a flat 4-wire trailer connector. Remember, that's 4 wire. There's no such thing as a 2-wire trailer connection. You need one wire for taillights, one for left brake/turn, one wire for right brake/turn, and a ground. caspermj
Thanks Eagle, simple 4 wire it is, and no need for the converter type. The reference to '2' or '3' was the wiring to the bulb, either brake and signal from the same bulb vs separate brake and signal.
