Flywheel milling

Recommended Posts

Ok, so currently I have no shifting problems/issues after replacing the clutch.  This was after the old line blew open while driving. I should have thought about that and replaced the line when I did everything else.  Since then, I have had no issues in any gear.

Just a thought-

Renix 2.5 flywheels are non-existent. I don't need one but I'll be buying one used of ebay next week. I'm in the process of buying critical parts that cannot be found or will not be found in the future.

I study threads/comments, connect the dots, looking for commonality......

Two things I have never seen discussed, flywheel shims and master/slaves.

I have gone through 4 masters and two slaves before I bit the bullet and bought a complete Mopar system. I would imagine the internal slaves to be particularly problematic.

Secondly, there is no reason not to use a flywheel shim matching the amount of material that was relieved from the surface of the flywheel. Should be even easier to make a shim for the backside of the internal slave.

I'll be having the new-used flywheel turned, no other options for me.
