combatcamera
For Sale. $300 obo 1986 Jeep Comanche 2.8 Litre V6 engine 5-speed manual transmission 147,000 miles Located in Baltimore, Md. The truck runs, though it's certainly seen better days. At one point it was owned by the National Park Service. There is a park service property tag on the door frame. Willing to part out as well. THE BAD * Needs new radiator. * Engine has a valve issue. You can hear the valve(s) knocking and tapping, especially when engine is revved or the throttle is opened up. * Rust has eaten through portions of the driver's side floor. Most of it has been cut out. Some final cutting and grinding for prep and patch panels need to be welded in. Passenger side appears to be mainly surface rust. * Missing the grill and headlight bezels. Tail lights too. * The bed has a big dent in the side. This came from backing it into the garage and misjudging the door frame space. * Paint looks pretty worn. *Low fuel light comes on periodically, including times when the tank is full. * Needs seatbelts. The belts themselves are fine, but the "female" ends don't work. * Headliner is gone. THE GOOD I know, I know...what's really left to list as good. But there are a few good things: * Body is pretty much rust free. A few minor spots here and there that are a quick sanding and primer job. Though, I also haven't taken off the fender flares...so there may be something hidden under there. But other than that possibility, body is rust free and straight. Well, except that one part of the bed. * Transmission shifts smoothly and easily. Transfer case works and easily shifts through all settings. * Tailgate is not pictured, but I do still have it. Has fully functional tailgate that is rust free. Also has plastic bedliner. I should also point out I've never taken the bedliner out, so I have no idea what the actual condition of the bed itself is. * Includes tool box mounted in bed. * Tires are virtually brand new, though it has no spare. * Carpeting etc. has already all been ripped out. Trim pieces are all still there, though some are now residing in the bed of the truck. * It may never be a show piece again, but it may make for a decent start to an off road or trail platform. combatcamera
I know it's an '86 --the bastard year for Comanches-- and it's got some issues, but seriously, nobody is interested?
