Total HVAC system delete

Recommended Posts

Hi all and thanks for such a knowledgable group.i have an 88 no shortbed 4.0.I've completely taken the truck down to a rolling chassis.i have mostly all new or rebuilt parts going back in.my question is would i have any issues if i didn't install any of the heating or air conditioning parts back in.its only going to be my weekend mold trail truck.I'm trying to clean up all the clutter under the good.thanks in advance

i would just T the heater hoses together personally, not sure what ill effects, if any, would be created from total blockage.  as for accessory drive, mine is a factory AC delete so it just uses an idler pulley in its place. thats an easy fix.    as for removing the heater core and all dash components, i don't see an issue, i would leave the blower fan in place, just because of the enormous hole it would leave, but the smaller foam bypass would be fairly easy to block off.   just leave wiring in place and unplug everything

My compressor is bad.the one is cool if i had a good one.the holes on the firewall have plates cut to fit.I'm waiting to weld them in.i plan on staying with the closed system as they seen to work fine.I'm waiting on funds so i can order that aluminum pressure bottle.if i understand correctly i need to "t" or "tie in" between the water pump and therm housing?thanks for the help.this project wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for all the great advice and help you all provide.
